Has anyone added like a rear lip rather than an actual spoiler? The side profile of a 355 rear decklid would be something I’d love to try and add to the 348!something extremely subtle but just a bit more than standard!not sure what could be used though!
Can be bought from Japan, along with a front lip. I've been eyeing it but haven't pulled the trigger. https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/b476562890 They also have a front lip which I'm trying my best not to buy haha. https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/b463071254
Hmmm it’s a tough one whether it looks right or not!thats definitly the closest thing I’ve seen to what I was after…sadly the only right way to do it would be to actually fabricate it so it’s part of the car then respray but then your messing with a classic that would be sacrialige a bit!
I have been thinking for a while on this same idea. The 355 rear deck lid kick up is just so right. It wouldnt be too hard to make a mold of the 355 and get it to work for the 348. If I had access to one I would do it in a second.
It’s funny cause in some pics it looks more of a spoiler than others…would be a tough call to fabricate the actual car Image Unavailable, Please Login
The only real trick would be the transition into the fenders because the 355 kick up starts in the fenders and then carries into the decklid. It could be made in multiple different ways but I think what would probably be best is a one piece spoiler that could be attached directly to the 348 decklid and extends over the top of the 348 fenders to carry the flow of the shape, When opening the deck lid the whole thing stays with it. Hopefully that makes sense. Otherwise you would be doing a 3 piece thing that would get fixed to the fenders and the deck lid with the same gap the fenders have to the decklid just like the small one shown above. My preference would be a smooth integrated execution but that would mean doing it all out of metal and blending it straight into the 348 panels. I know the Ferrari crowd dont usually condone modifications that are not able to be undone though. I'm an automotive sculptor for GM, this stuff is what I do for a living, if I had a 355 deck lid anything is possible. I could always do something new and unique, but the 355 executes it so well
