So, let’s hear about that Ultima. It’s on my list. Did you build it? I am going to build a Caterham (should be here in a couple weeks, depending on how that goes -> Ultima).

Does anyone else see the irony being a Ferrari site that the new flat-plane crank Z06 motor will use sodium filled exhaust valves, a greatly debated topic on their ability to stand up to time on many ferrari engines (broken heads on 246, 308/2V, 512bb,bbi. For me I am not 100% there is an issue. I just find it strange they did not do SS or ti.

Just reading an article that says the best laps are 10 laps into a session (C&D December issue)- now that is surprising and encouraging.

It is interesting about the Valves. There was a reason Ferrari used them in the past and a reason why Chevy is using them now. Not sure what the reason is but there has been a lot of improvements in metallurgy sine the early Ferraris.

sodium dissipates heat as it moves as a liquid in the hot valve head to the cooler stem

Yes and I believe the conspirators say ferrari used a much thinner wall on the valve stem. Regardless, it made me chuckle when I heard chevy was doing it. Worked for aviation and race motors for long time.

And for full disclosure, I did try and get on the list for the Z06, but was told, not taking any more on the list.

aircraft engines (and parts) have mandatory inspection and end of life requirements.

The Ferrari engines of long ago should have had a time limit set on the life of the exhaust valves as well as they were long known in racing stress to fail.

Chevy with probably have a time limit on these valves as well. They must have enough data by now.

V6/8/4 the northstar ls7 valves gm does not always make the most robust motors or apparently batteries.
Maybe they tested for 100k miles but 20 or 30 years can be another issue for sodium valves

A new motor and engine platform from gm
On one hand I’d like to believe it’s fully tested on the other hand …

let’s not forget the bad main bearings on e36 MP3’s or bad do rods on gt3 s. So it can happen to the Vette too. One thing the Germans do is fix the mistake, but the. So does the new gm

So, I watched the entire video, foolishly thinking: This is a joke. He's going to get halfway through and go "Nah, I'm just messing with you"
    Silly me.
It is amazing what people will post on the internet.

The sad thing is that I clicked on it...I MADE the guy a little money.
And he accomplished exactly what he set out to do...make a video so outlandish and stupid that people will click on it.
There was a great comment though:
Some guy said he hoped Jay Leno would post a rebuttal. We all know (but he doesn't, obviously) that there's ALWAYS someone with more stuff.

Funny that a guy with a Senna would talk about "looks"...
It (Senna) is clearly an amazing car, but as my dad would say:
"You gotta tie a bone around it's neck to get the dogs to play with it"

    C8 production suspended this week.

To get the facility up and running once again in optimal conditions, General Motors needs a full week to repair the building after the fire wreaked havoc. Some 1,200 hourly workers are employed there, plus approximately 180 salaried workers.

All these youtubers are frothing about this and that. Let ee some actual testes of the car.
Methinks in the end the one "everyone" will want will be that 800+hp zr1 or erey. Thats going to be a knock em dead road car with spectaular paper numbers and mega tq. I think many will be disspointed with their z06, Finding they have to rev the motor to make it go, (ie it will maybe not be as respomsive as a regular vette for trafficly roads) By the time the z06 is aculay out and about the Zr1 and erey will be things, thsioe are the higher powere higher optiuoned evtets most are going to want. the z06 will quickly fade from must have and many orders will convert. Used z06s are going to struggle as with the c6-7 versions which were upsatged on apoer by the zr1 versions.

Or put another way if the zr1 and erey were on the market concurrently with the z06 the majority of orders would not be for the z06.
once those other two are out the z06 will be able to evove into an even more focussed car.

I see c8s every day, Head on they still look exotic, from the rear meh.
