Seat Belt options

I have a pair of the belts with the big head and the star burst emblem. Not the full belt just the short piece with the buckle. Not sure if it is for an M-series.

 

I have the same issue on my own Dino Jon. One of the buckles has actually shattered and I haven't come up with a suitable (in my eyes solution). Since seat belts are a safety item replacing them with a non original set does not result in a judging points reduction. I may just order a vintage looking retractable set, sans the VW logo.

 

Some of the seat belts for the Fiat X1/9 look very similar. I have a NOS retractor belt in the Fiat box that I can't tell any difference from the one in my '74 GTS. Midwest Bayless might be worth a look.

This is a similar new 3 point non-retractable belt that looks like the original Klippen. From what I know, all M-Series were Euro Spec (I may be wrong :/ )

The correct M-series belts are, as you would expect, NLA. I've collected the bits with the plan to replace the aftermarket ones in my 71 M-Series with the proper hardware. A `proper' restoration of the original belts in another M-series can be found here...

Spoke with them 15 years ago, more or less. At the time they seemed willing to try anything to help with decent repairs or replacements. (Although I think the conversation was about a '61 Porsche 365B Super 90.)
