Ferrari California 2014 dripping some type of oil from rear end area weep hole.
Was told it is an internal seal that failed causing transmission fluid and gear fluid to mix and come out of weep hole.
Transmisión runs fine but I parked it one day and found a puddle under the rear wheels

Gave me an estimate of around 15,000

seems like a lot Any opinions

It is very possible. The trans does indeed use 2 different fluids. 75w90 for the gear set and a specifi DCT fluid for the wet clutch and solenoid set.

It is very possible the manufacturer of the gearbox add this weep hole to the gear box to indicate a serious issue before it wipes out the gearbox completely. Think of it like a waterpump weep hole. The cost..is what it is..and really is ot that far out of line.

If your transmission and diff fluid are combining, you will likely need a new transmission.

From what I understand, the unit is similar to the 458 and it's not that uncommon for internal seals to fail and fluids to mix...then you may also get an external leak The e-diff and Transmission are One Unit.

Repair at $15K is probably just a rebuild of the seals. The thing to watch for is if the Clutch pack got fluids mixed, them it's more like a $30k-40k repair because hardly any techs are qualified for this. If you are also getting a e-diff overheat warning & CEL then more likely than not you will need to replace the assembly.

Sorry for the dour news...but that's been my experience.

It ends up being a replacement of the transmission/ e-diff unit

Keep us posted on the outcome.

Let's put these $15.000 in perspective: a new DSG transmission on a Volkswagen Golf is €7.000...

common issue, a qualified technician will replace the intermediate plate with an updated unit and I would highly recommend that you also replace the pressure sensors and output shaft speed sensor while you are in there as those are also very high failure rate items. $15K is a fair price.
