I am rebuilding the water pump from a 1959 Ferrari 250 PF Coupe and am having difficulty locating a new replacement ball bearing. It is classified as a deep groove bearing open on both sides. Dimensions; 15 mm I.D. 37 mm O.D. 10 mm thickness (9 will do) Markings say it is a Fafnir 103K I have cross referenced it to a SKF 98202 which is no longer made. Any help would be deeply appreciated. I'm looking for a reliable bearing supplier in general, ideally someone with a stash of older bearings.
At least, here in EU, SKF 98202 (9 mm thickness) is available. A noname is available immediately for about 10€. These guys are located in France and I just ordered for several 100€. Perfect Service. https://www.123bearing.com/section?q=98202
Same company but slightly different URL (www.123bearing.com/bearings-98202) in stock here in the US for $8.37
Be careful, Kerry! Sadly, they are not very clear, where the products are. You will need to pay import taxes on top of the $8.37. This company has different URLs, depending on language. French .fr, german .de, and so on. When ordering on the german URL, the bearings will be shipped from France. The company is based in France: https://www.123bearing.com/CGV and https://www.123bearing.com/contact My link is both products: your link is the less pricey one in my link. Non the less, for me a very good supplier.
While cleaning up the engine compartment on the 250 GT PF coupe I snapped this photo. Image Unavailable, Please Login
In another thread about 250 GT Europa, I posted photos of that model that was exhibited at the stand (a sort of lounge space) of the organizers of the Milano Autoclassica 2019 fair. And I remembered that I also had photos of other classic Ferraris which were there, including a beautiful 250 PF cabriolet. I don't know its chassis number. I know that this thread is about the coupe but I could not find a specific thread about the cabriolet and so I decided to post these photos here, where some previous posts have also posted photos of the cabriolet version Here they are Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hello All! Where on the chassis is the serial number stamped? Not the I.D. plate but the actual chassis.
Attached is an image of the chassis stamping for 1369 GT. It was located on the main chassis tube, drivers side toward the front of the engine. Damn hard to find. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Try the top of the main chassis tube, driver's side of the engine compartment, approximately across from the engine timing case, near the triangulated box sections welded to the main chassis tube. You may have to clean the area - maybe even take some paint off the tube - to see the number clearly, depending on how deeply stamped. Sometimes the tube will have a slight indent if it was stamped hard enough.
Yes, the white arrow points to the unpainted area where the S/N is stamped. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks, I found them both accept one is more distinct than the other. Used fine sand paper to only remove what I needed to Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
