Hey guys, just wondering what the original key looks like for a 75 gt4. After obtaining an original key for my 328, thanks to a board member, Herb! Now my ocd is flaring and I’m trying to track down an original key for the dino. Anybody got a pic or know where I can find one?

Those look exactly like mine from '76!

I also looked for a replacement blank, and this is the closest that I could find. Plenty of good reviews from other members prompted me to spring for a set a few days ago. Very happy with the communication so far, and can post back early next year when they should get here. You'd think that with Italy just a thousand miles away, I could pick up a set down the street :(

look for "oberto" on the forum.

    bye,

If it's original that Neiman ignition key should be steel. It's unusual to have steel keys. I'd be very surprised if you'd be able to find a replacement steel blank, and even more surprised if you would find a locksmith who would be willing to cut it.

This is interesting! So, I had a look and indeed all the house keys are Ni-plated bronze whereas the Dino keys are steel. Comparing other older car keys revealed that those of a 72 porsche are also steel whereas those of a 1993 mazda 121 (think Ford Fiesta) are not. Interestingly, we had one set of the Mazda keys remade a couple of years ago at a local 2$ store and the new one is steel. It didn't cost or grumble more to make. So, it looks like steel keys are not that rare for cars and can be found on more recent/cheap models as well.

I had a 1970 Fiat 124 Coupe that had the same keys as my 1975 308/GT4. Might be a route to get the correct keys.

Got the neiman keys (repros), next up is the “dino” key, and this will be challenging to say the least

Yes, the Dino keys are very hard to find. I posted a Neiman repro (it was produced by an Fchatter in China), but here in Italy you can find also original blank Neiman, more or less at 200 euro each.

    ciao

These are the original keys for my 1975 Dino 308gt4. I bought spares from eBay and had them cut. I keep the originals safe, and really only pull them out for shows.
