The red cover car is the Italian language edition and the white cover car is the English language edition?
The Icona series is not about pushing the performance envelope. You know that. The whole gist of it, is to take Icons of the past and re-imagine or reinterpret their DESIGN with today’s tech. And in the case of the V12, to keep the NA un-assisted V12 engine still in the line up. An Icona model that pays homage to the P3/P4, is a model that pays homage to the DESIGN first and foremost. It doesn’t mean that they were making a serious prototype race car for the streets that invoked the P3/P4 design. Regardless of performance not being the foremost concern, this prancing horse will definitely haul ass.
Yes, we all know that the Icona series is a "styling exercise" more than a "performance exercise". In the case of the Daytona SP3, the goal was to incorporate as many design elements ... and as many design languages ... from as many cars as possible, into a single car. To many of us, this is not an aesthetically-pleasing direction or result. Performance-wise, compared to LaFerrari: YES, Ferrari kept a naturally-aspirated V12 but they also kept the weight, without any hybrid batteries or enhancements and they also increased the price. No matter ... Ferrari knows that a few hundred faithful will always appreciate the "bold, daring, striking" design (no matter how she looks), and will always step-up to pay the freight (no matter how much she costs).
It's too bad the SP3 is not the 812 replacement, they could sell double the number of the 812 family (of course it would take many years of production), a rear-mid-engine V12...that definitely looks the part.
Well 275 people are ready to pay 3 millions for the AMG ONE which is absolutely a bland design to my eyes.. A car with a Formula One engine which sounds horrible either. The F140 Ferrari V12 is a masterpiece in comparison.
I'm not "in love" with the styling of the AMG ONE either, but the design is certainly more cohesive ... with more flowing, rather than discordant lines ... than the SP3. Performance-wise ... SP3 vs. AMG ONE ... we'll see (I know, the SP3 was not designed with performance as a top priority ... but i didn't invite the comparison to AMG ONE, and the two cars are priced about the same)
Respectfully disagree with you about their respective designs. But all of this is highly subjective. Really doubt the ONE will be friendly to use on open road because of its engine. We will see..
The AMG One and the Valkyrie will have to be compared to the LaFerrari's replacement. The SP3 is just a slower LaFerrari Aperta design study, not a MY 2022 hypercar.

I think the latter. I had to look up the P5. Everyone knows and loves the P4. Thank you for your knowledgeable and informative posts.
