100% correct. I’m at stock ride height, and scraped the rear diffuser just during normal spirited driving on a mountain road. If the car sat any lower I would probably have cracked the thing in two. As always kids, there is generally a reason the factory/engineers have certain settings and specs. If you are going to change them be very aware of the potential repercussions.
If you must lower, go with the Novitec springs with a proper alignment. What others are saying are true about the rear diffusers possibly scraping, so keep that in mind. You can adjust the height with the Novitec springs to a certain extent. You also need to consider the car will settle a bit after the fact, so put that into your lowering height calculation as well.
Something else I would like to stress about lowering on stock springs. Before starting to dovanything, make sure the car has at least 2000 km on it. Then have it checked to see if it's at the factory spec height. So many of these cars go out of the factory at incorrect heights, even affer they have settled. This is also why one guy may not see an issue from lowering 10-15 mm, but another may scrape things to pieces. So before doing anything, make sure you are at factory spec height. Seen plenty of 458's, 488, and F8's sitting 6-10 mm too high. Just something tk be aware of. Sent from my SM-G930F using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Hi Guys, just FYI I have mine lowered with Novitec springs, spacers. I just noticed one of my fins on the diffusers is chipped I think I did it from a large speed bump. Luckily its a plastic piece you cant notice it unless you look directly under it. So I will have the fin replaced by Ferrari before I sell it. If it was carbon fiber it would be an expensive fix. The other fins so far are fine. I wouldn't change it for the world, the car looks so much better.
Looks great! How low did you go? Which spacers did you do for front and back? I ordered the novitec springs should be here next week. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
^This. USA cars ride a bit higher than EU cars because of bumper height regulations. Lowering to within range of EU spec should be no problem with OEM springs, but you need to know what you’re doing as things easily, and I mean easily, can get damaged. Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat
Not to bump a super old thread but does anyone know where to purchase the spanner wrenches to loosen the rear lock nut? I figured Hill engineering would have one but I can’t find it.
The lower collar on the Novitec kit is the same size as the OEM lower collar. The Novitec kit comes with the wrenches so maybe you can use those to break the OEM perches loose.
