Hi Team Could i ask for some help clrifying original equipment tyres 348tb & 348tbs 1987 - 1993 215/50R17 front 35psi 255/45R17 Rear 38psi 348GTB, 348GTBS 1993 - 1994 215/50R17 front 35psi 255/45R17 Rear 38psi 348 Spider 1993 - 1995 215/50R17 front 35psi 255/45R17 Rear 34psi In my period fitment guides by tyre manufacturers it lists 17" tyres not 18". However Pirelli do have some 18" tyres that they list as 348 tyres as well as listing the 17" ones 225/40R18 P-Zero front 265/40R18 P-Zero Rear These tyres are also listed as 355 tyres. can you guys clarify what happened? could you specify 18" wheels at the factory gate? If so is there any period data about that such as those window stickers, because i would like to get some tyre pressure dat as well so i can build an accurate web page about the 348. What tyres are best. I'm a big Pirelli fan and they still make the P-Zero, but what are you guys fitting and why?
225/40R18 P-Zero front 265/40R18 P-Zero Rear Those are 355 tire sizes. 348 always has 17" rims, there was no 18" option. These were always 348 specs. 215/50R17 front 255/45R17 Rear The pzeros are not that great. Just read performance tests on tire rack. Sent using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Yes correct they were oem tires as far as I know. There are several books that cover it like the keith bluemel one. Sent using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Correct but if you ran Challenge wheels on your 348, those 18" tires (same as 355) would be the correct size yes?
You bet yes, I suspect at that time those were challenge cars only I am not certain you could order a 348 with those. You can of course add any 18" wheel and use those tires as well. I have 355 wheels on mine actually. For the TB/TS they were 17" factory spec. However if you did buy a Challenge car new then yes it would come with those sizes as mentioned. OP listed TB/TS variants not the challenge. I think there were North America only and the numbers of examples was fairly small. How did one get one anyhow.. was there some secret method or did you have to know someone? I don't think you could walk in and buy one could you?
