    Little pre xmas day treat.

I cracked open my bottle of 21 WR MC and used the Peg leg, which has become one of new go to dailys, as a reference.

Boy oh boy that is interesting and delicious stuff. Free of bourbon appellation limitations it has an unusual and complex taste profile with a lot of smokiness and fruitiness along with good bite. It is a fantastic whiskey and I highly recommend it if you score a bottle at or close to msrp.

Bet that WR is tasty! We really like their basic version.

I have the chocolate malted from 2019 and the 2021 batch proof. Both are amazingly excellent, and i'm now watching for those MC bottles like a hawk everywhere I go

A lil "apple cider" that definitely isn't apple cider.

Turns out I have a cousin with a "surplus of copper" in her machine shed on her farm.

    Hehehe.

Please hold the laughter. LOL !!!
I’m 63 and haven’t had any kind of alcohol in probably 40 years. Never acquired a taste for beer, wine or the hard stuff. Enter my new”ish” golf group and now I’m almost an alcoholic. First, Black Sambuca, regular Sambuca, Fireball, Tequila, Bourbon and then Skrewball Peanut Butter Whiskey. Winner winner !!!!!
Now I drink with the fellas all the time. LOL

Very cool score JK ... I've been waiting to see someone post this year's Pappy and BTAC releases.

Time to camp outside my local store. :)

Nothing as special for me today but a decent pour.

Found this in Maine, or all places. Quite good for a reasonable price ($34). The store had Kentucky Owl listed for $110 but none on the shelf.

Ended up in Louisville overnight on the way back to MD after spending time with dad in Iowa over the weekend. Man is this ever a spectacular pour.

Thank you. I was surprised to get the 23. I assumed my profligate spending would get me on the list for one of something, but I assumed a Rye or MAYBE a 15. The stores around here really hoard it.

Allocations are down this year from last, I haven’t been buying enough or been to my store downtown to be able to get one this year

Posting this here cause it's where the alcoholics are. :)

I inherited this bottle of pre 2007 absinthe many years ago and I hadn't had the heart to open it.

But one of my New Years resolution is to not care any more how collectible and rare things are and just enjoy them without thoughts.

    So I opened it.

I obviously don't have the proper accessories but used what was around. I'll also have to improvise if I want to cut my ear off. :)

Happy, healthy, and prosperous new year everyone!!!

Fan-bleeding-tastic sir!! That seems ideal for a Sazerac or three. ;)

Happy new year to all!!! No whiskey for me just yet, we've got a spot at Bresca tonight for their 6 course with bubbly/wine pairing, so additional beverage may occur once we're back home.

It's raining so no deck photo, please forgive the cluttered stovetop. Missus went all out for NYD brunch. ;)

Testing the new chimney. It works!! Bookers (2018-04 Kitchen Table) OF for the inaugural.

    Nice, cheers!

A local spot (fishpaws on hwy 2 for those in the annapolis/baltimore area) had a whistlepig barrel pick that was 17 years, and it is AMAZING.

    Shoulda gotten two. :(

Thats a great bottle! I wasn’t impressed with the 18 year vs. the 12 and 15. 12 is my favorite!

Any WP i pick up from now on is going to be the 10yr bottle with the little postage stamp. ;) agreed on the 18, thankfully a friend had it (he was in our camp too) so he gave me a pour to help me decide. Grateful he did, coulda been a disappointing spend.

I think they had 5 or 6 last year. 5k spend per year gets you access
