Barcelona 19944 I believe. Stuck in 5th I think for more half the race...so he didn't lose a gear...he practically lost all of them except 5th. Even had to do a pit stop like that! Finished 2nd...

Ah, ok. Even worse. Yeah, France was the not working button on the steering wheel. Rumors have it that this very button is now part of the collection of <ahem> some FChatter...

BTW: I loved the (involuntary) reference to Strietzel. My fav German race driver of the seventies. :)

Fritz Kreutzpointer made a name for himself in truck racing with Mercedes. The antipodes of F1 in fact!

Look at Lewis wheel. Again, Max should have bailed. The only reason Hamilton got a penalty here because Horner and co wouldn't shut up on the radio. Watching it live, I deemed it a racing incident. Then the twitter mob came.

So funny reading how HAM fans are twisting themselves into knots defending a move by their hero that is essentially a dive-bomb—at probably the most inappropriate corner—and at the same time accusing Max of committing the same brainless move on multiple occasions. The difference is that Max can pull off that move. HAM, not so much, LOL.

The same stupid move on Leclerc resulted in Leclerc running out wide because the idiot HAM came out wide and nearly collected Leclerc. And the move was uncalled for as he could have passed Leclerc at the end of any subsequent straight given how much faster his car was at the end.

Also, for those claiming that Max should have “bailed out” of a corner where he was ahead and a corner that is essentially a sharp flick of wrists just don’t understand driving, I think.

Using their logic Lewis should've bailed out at Monza. But they blame Max for that as well.

Basically their logic is, if you are near Hamilton, roll over and let his Lewisness pass, because reasons.

Basically their logic is, if you are near Hamilton, roll over and let his Lewisness pass, because reasons.

^^ This, literally, is the logic and mindset that results in a comment like “Max should have bailed” while ahead and turning into a super fast—probably 4+ g—corner!

On topic--- No indication LH is leaving F1 and or Mercedes are looking for a replacement.

No the common sense was this was a lap 1 racing incident. LH won and the RedBull inquest via Socially Stupid and Loud Media led by Horner / Marko was the world ended. It didnt.

No kidding. Who would have guessed.

I guess it was all a case of—paraphrasing you—bleating and moaning “via Socially Stupid and Loud Media” led by the “Toto & Hamo show” that the world ended. It didn't. :)

Hasn’t F1 gotten bad enough? Now some of you seem to want no passing as well?

If you don’t stop F1 will become a DE where you can only pass with a wave by on the straights.

C’mon, there will always be some questionable moves but that’s the nature of the sport. No need to over regulate and second guess everything.

Ralf??????? LOL??? An Oracle of F1 LOL

No - but Mika is more of an authority --

Hakkinen was involved in numerous close battles with Michael Schumacher during the 1990s and early 2000s, and said that from experience when cars go wheel-to-wheel the chance of a collision is always there.

“Sunday’s collision between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton during the British Grand Prix was a pure racing incident,” he wrote in his Unibet column. “When you are racing at those speeds and going for the win, these things can sometimes happen.

Brundle was an F1 racer and he said it's a racing incident. And he is biased against Hamilton.
