Ummm... I don't know. He doesn't get the respect. His PPV are not like Canelo's. Social Media is not like Canelo's and his following is not like Canelo's. I know none of those things I mentioned should have to do with P4P, but influence does make a big part of it unfortunately. Also, Fighting once a year doesn't cut it.
It's been a while, some big time boxing action coming right up. April 9- Ryan Garcia VS Emmanuel Tagoe in Ryan Garcia's 'comeback' fight after nearly 15 months out of the ring. April 9- GGG VS some Japanese dude in Japan. GGG's first fight in nearly 2 years and he is defending his IBF and IBO Middleweight titles and they are both fighting for the vacant Super WBA Middleweight title. Both fighters haven't been active for 2+ years, so expect some ring rust from both fighters in this one lol. April 16- Errol Spence Jr VS Yordenis Ugas in a unification match. Hopefully the winner goes on to fight Terence Crawford for all the gold asap. April 23- Tyson Fury VS Dillian Whyte in the UK. Fury defending his WBC title. May 7- Canelo Alvarez VS Dmitry Bivol for the Super WBA light heavyweight title. Alvarez was fighing Makabu for the WBC Cruiserweight, but the fight didn't materialize apparently. Bivol is undefeated and taller and bigger than Alvarez, should be interesting. June 5- George Kambosos VS Vasyl Lomachenko for a lot of belts lol. The fight was taking place in Melbourne Australia, but it may be postponed or Kambosos might have to find another opponent as Lomachenko is in the Ukraine defending his country with the Klitschko Brothers and Heavyweight champ Oleksandr Usyk. That will do for now, strap in gents!
Oh if you guys only knew about Crawford, he lives about 12 miles from me, he's a baaaaad dude, and you don't want to even look crosseyed at his posse. I'm serious guys, you just don't go to 'his' end of town, even in broad daylight....
But if you can make a few million when you DO fight, I'd do that too... I just kinda looked, 'they say' TC is worth about 8 million, I was kinda surprised, I figured he would be worth about 30 million by now, with PPV and all that.
Exciting. Apart from the Garcia fight really looking forward to the upcoming lineup. Two fights in particular: GGG-Murata and Alvarez-Bivol should be very interesting. Four very tough opponents. Looking forward.
I think Alvarez VS Bivol is the most interesting fight out of all of them I reckon. Bivol is a big man, had a solid amateur career and should give Canelo some trouble I think. It's great to see Canelo actually challenging himself against these bigger men, instead of cherry picking the easy wins like he has done in the past.
Canelo is good, esp now, but anyone that actually pays attention knows he cherry picks his opponents, usually smaller dudes, and up until a few years ago, he would dehydrate himself to make that 154 lbs limit, until his body couldn't quite do it anymore, and then came up with Canelo-weight/catchweight of 155. He was always more of a natural middleweight fighter. He'd inflate almost to 180 lbs on fight night sometimes. After a while, they wouldn't even mention his weight on fight night anymore.
So far, Shakur is still cool. I like him. Being great hasn't hit him as hard as it hit Haney and Tank. But i'd love to see Valdez win.
Anyone watch the GGG fight last week? Old mate was tough and started off strong, but GGG eventually broke him down in the end. GGG looked good, but definitely not the GGG of old. He is 40 years old but and was out of the ring for nearly 2 years. He will definitely get hurt if he dares to fight Canelo for a 3rd time.
BIG fight on today! Spence Jr VS Ugas in their unification title fight. Winner to fight Crawford for all the belts in late 2022! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yes excellent fight. That Murata was one tough SOB. GGG still had enough fire to break him down. At 40 I still believe he's able to deliver the goods. Looking forward to see what happens with Canelo.
Murata definitely a solid young fella. I believe he can still deliver the goods and will keep wining titles for another few years, but he needs to stay away from Canelo I reckon lol.
Did anyone watch the Spence Jr VS Ugas fight on the weekend? Spence Jr looked good, REAL good!! But I noticed he doesn't like body shots! Once Ugas worked that out, it was too late because of the big uppercut that closed his right eye. They won't have a rematch, but if they did I reckon Ugas would fight a different fight. He was keeping Spence Jr honest the entire fight and if they fought again it may be a different result.
Saw that fight. Ugas just wasn’t active enough. Probably Spence had something to do with that . If they rematched I believe it would be a similar result.
