Love my F8 so much it will take something incredible to phase me. The 296 and SF 90 are definitely not it.

LOL... yeah that was a sight to see huh?!?! I got my tall butt in there.... I fit. I'd really need to drive it for 10 minutes to see how the seat position feels with my knee so close to the dash and head a finger width away from the roof before I spend this type of money ordering a car. That is if they'd even let me order one...LOL

I am 6'5.5" 230lbs and my best friend has a Aventador and I fit in it...its tight like a McLaren 720S. My issue mostly is my full left leg prosthetic leg as it does not bend and contort like a human leg does and the hard carbon socket around my hip.

I'm sure to annoy a few here, but here goes. I've been invited to purchase 296, SF90, F8. I will keep my 488 which I purchased new, trading in (perhaps a bit of buyer's remorse) my 458. In my eyes, the latest Ferraris (NOT Ferrari's which many type ... plural vs possessive) have too many aerodynamic features that consume my eyeballs.

I doubt you’ll annoy anyone. The 488 is a great car. Pre-GPF it makes a nice growl, has a very sophisticated “planted” driving feel to it, and the torque is superb. I also really love the front design that pays homage to the mid 2000 F1 cars.

Yep…. I think racing and F1 from that era too.

I love my 488 that the 296 was a let down when it was uncovered. I love the look of the F8 a lot too and the 458.

Every Ferrari before these going back to the 355-348-328-308 always were a huge exotic wow factor when they came out. I’m actually kind of sad inside over all this…I really wanted to be excited. Maybe my feelings will change

How did you get invited to purchase, if I might ask? Last I heard the SF90 and F8 books were closed?

I have now my fourth Ferrari (Portofino), and drove also an 10 year old one in the mean time without any real problems. I think new Ferrari's are quite good build already a long time. The very expensive extended warrenty programs are to my opinion not necessary if you own the car already from the start or know it good for a long time.

Although I agree with you on the warranty programs have to disagree on the electronics innovation part. My first Ferrari was 82 BBi which was rock solid and minor electrical issues. The Scuderia had 0 issues. The Pista which I habitually had on the tender lost the battery after a little over one year. I am seeing threads on F8s having battery issues. Radio/Navigation is built-in obsolescence as well as many other components. So conventional wisdom cautions me against buying a 296 until they develop a sound operating record.

That is an unbelievably special looking Ferrari.

The F8 is the last Ferrari to ever be an evolution of a Pininfarina design. Ferrari did very well evolving the 458 designed by Pininfarina, but they came up short in their efforts to design a car from the ground up (296/SF90).

458 Definitely, NA V8 last of its kind, F8 Definitely, faster more aggressive, looks so much better then the 488. The 488 I think will fall much lower then the 458, why would you want a 488 when you can get an F8.

The delta in performance between the 488 and F8 on the street is negligible. The sound of the 488 is better. The driving characteristics of the 488 make it a pleasure to drive. I happen to like the F1 style front of the 488 very much.

You really have to hunt to find the lag in the F8; we tracked them pretty hard at Concours and that was the consensus of the group. Haven’t driven the 488, but that’s quite an achievement if also the case.

Guess we’ll have to swap for a bit when the F8S arrives, if just for grins.

Hi Bill - the "books are not closed", per se. Having purchased three Ferraris from one dealership established me as a "family" customer, hence the invitation.

The SF 90 might be a limited vehicle but the F8 is not.

    Best, Andy

@metaldriver Im pretty sure the F8 books are closed as of the end October. The owner of my local is a friend and told me this so I'm pretty sure he would know? I put my deposit down first week of October and the car is in myFerrrari app but everything Im hearing from my dealer and others that have tried to order afterwards is that they are out of luck?

Depends on who has friends in higher places. :D Ask your buddy who owns your local dealership to re-check the facts.

Name dropping here ... Risi Competizione ... as in Giuseppe, who was friends with Enzo before the latter's passing, has F8s and SF90s available for certain customers.

Well put… 488 with a simple vacuum line plug to keep the exhaust valves open sounds pretty good. A few guys locally were telling me they much prefer the single outset tail lights of the 458-488 over the quad lights on the F8. I like both no preferences.

I will say this… Ferrai never made and will not race a F8. That effects my decisions some. Maybe this is because I’ve been a Porsche guy so long with Porsche’s rich racing history but Porsches models with trickle down technology in suspension and engine and body parts that we’re raced mean something.

Well, Porsche does not race the GT3, GT3RS or GT2RS either. I have 2 GT cars and have driven cup cars and they are not the same engine transmission or suspension. Both P and F trickle down advances from racing series but the cars we buy are not race cars or derivatives of race cars.

I absolutely agree. My ear actually preferred it to my 458. Now as I await delivery of my F8, the comments posted on this forum regarding the F8’s exhaust are disconcerting. We shall see.
