    I've always contended that today's Mercedes team is actually the third oldest constructor in F1, behind Ferrari and McLaren, dating back to the appearance of the Tyrrell 001 in late 1970.

    Loved that whole weekend. Great food, beautiful women and an easy Metro ride to the track. That black and white photo reminded me of a frontpage photo of a groundhog in the middle of the track with the banner headline "la Marmotte!"

    1978-call me crazy but I loved the looks of the T3 and it won races that year….including Gilles’ first victory in that very race after JP Jarier’s Lotus suffered mechanical woes. He replaced poor Ronnie Peterson.

    Early in the year, since it still had the original 1974 airbox and exposed roll bar. Probably Mauro in the blue jacket talking to Niki? And at the Modena Autodromo?

    It's easy to laugh at these failures, but I enjoyed the diversity of engine solutions which existed in F1 before the FIA imposed its designs in later formulas.

    Some of these engines could have achieved much more, and only lacked time and money to be developed to their full potential.

    Outside of the BRM, they’re all inside my favourite decade ‘84-‘93. I loved seeing the Subaru logo and Pentastar on cars with the unmentioned Lambo. I think Brian Hart did quite respectably given his financial limitations, but Ligier definitely dodged a bullet because of Arnoux. Who wouldn’t want a Megatron after Brabham and Benetton’s success. The blown M’s were a powerhouse.

    Jim Clark had some intrest in the very competitive F1 Ferrari of his era. Colin Chapman as well!
    Imagine Hamilton jumping in Leclerc's Ferrari today, Toto and Binotto would go nuts!
