When doing the QA-1 upgrade do you need a spring compressor to take the factory shocks off? TIA
Be careful with those compressors. I used the outside "hook" type once and lost a chunk of skin when it popped off.
No but I can install the spring on my work bench you barely have to compress the QA-1’s to get the spring on there’s a lot of thread on them. I just wasn’t sure how much load is still on the lower control arm with the suspension in full drop
True You don’t need a spring compressor to remove the original spring, remove the shock and the spring together because the QA-1 will have their own spring.
I use this spring compressor. It is very safe. Very effective. Reasonably priced. Image Unavailable, Please Login
