My ‘75 gt4 has pretty ugly aftermarket speaker grills in place of the original perforated skins, I would like to restore and recover the panels with new leather and replicate the original hole pattern. I would like to see a photo of the backside of that area. Is there some perforated support plate in place of the large hole? Or is there just the large hole cut in the fiberglass and the stretched perforated leather covering it? Any guidance would be much appreciated. Thx, Pete.

I don't have access to a photo atm, but from what I recall there is just the hole in the fibreglass panel and the perforated leather over it.

Hi Mike, thanks for the photos. What type of cloth is that on the backside? Pete.

It is like a fine cotton gauze. Found some linen on Amazon that I am going to try.

Many years ago someone posted a real size pdf template for you to accurately do a transfer and punch. Or now a days you could easily cad to laser cut for no errors. Probably worth a search.

I searched but couldn't find that PDF, does anyone have it here? If not, can someone measure the center distances of each row? I'll be able to determine the angle between the holes. Also, what is the diameter of the holes? 3mm? Thx.

I just measured the cutouts on the doors, 5” and the door panels are 5 1/2”. Can anyone confirm that these dimensions are correct? Thx.

I found an old post of mine on the same topic. The pdf is gone. I have a 3d scanning app on my phone since the new iPhone has LiDAR. Maybe I can pull a good one.

Only one of my doors is good. funny story - I kicked a hole through my driver side speaker on my first wedding day. I was wearing my pointy tux shoes and it pushed through like butter. OMEN!!!! It crossed my mind then and every time I see my door now. The divorce finalized in 2018. Time to redo my interior!

my new wife buys me Ferrari parts for birthdays and holidays #winning

Please, looking for an accurate measurement of the center distance for the hole pattern. Also, hole size, 3mm? I would like to bring the door panels back to the upholsterer to finish up. Thx, Pete.
