Porsche and Audi are really close to Formula One according to the today Frankfurter Allgemeine zeitung. As motorists alone or Full Team ( very problable according to the journalist) Masi is only a problem for Hamilton’s diehard fans it seems..
Serious question: is there any real evidence of any other teams (other than Mercedes) ... or any sponsors ... calling for the firing of Masi? Also ... Bernie Ecclestone has recently been mentioned in this thread. But he was completely fine with the call in Abu Dhabi, calling any notion that Hamilton was robbed "complete and utter nonsense": https://www.planetf1.com/news/bernie-ecclestone-abu-dhabi-opinion/
I think we can all agree that Masi has been incompetent all season. That’s not really debatable! But what makes this situation more problematic is that he saved his most incompetent action for the last laps of the last race when everything was on the line for both RB and Merc. He made the FIA and F1 look like morons at the one race with the biggest stakes and the biggest global audience. He has the go. The FIA has to act.
Again, a serious question: before Abu Dhabi, what posters on Fchat were complaining about Masi? Not the stewards (generally), but Masi specifically? (i honestly don't know)
To be honest, I was never happy with Massi. Unfortunately now they are forced to keep him to avoid teams thinking they can get an officer fired if he rules against them.
I did a quick little search and there've been a few users (mostly in the Max camp) that were complaining about Masi and his applying (consistency) of the rules. It was only after Brazil and of course Abu Dhabi that the pro lewis crowd really went after his head.
It was only after Brazil and of course Abu Dhabi that the professional Lewis haters became best friends and supporters of Masi.
Were the Hamilton fanboys on Fchat complaining about Masi, before Abu Dhabi? It's a simple question. Please post some specific examples ... we'll be waiting.
Everybody was complaining about Masi. Nobody wanted to be new friends with Masi. Until Abu Dhabi. You can look through the threads.
So the answer to the question is NO ... there are no posts where Hamilton fans were complaining about Masi, before Abu Dhabi. Thanks for playing! (we already knew the answer, of course).
I have no proof that you looked through the threads and found no mention of Masi from Ham fans. You have no proof you looked through the threads and found no mention of Masi from Ham fans.
Like the first 50 laps in Abu Dhabi ? But, I STILL contend, the MERC strategists lost the race for Lewis.
That's assuming 100% of all fans will leave and 100% of all sponsors and team. I'd call that a stretch
I knew I saw some posts about it - not meant to pull out members just showing quotes of Masi as requested. https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/posts/148218230/ https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/posts/148218216/ https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/posts/148218234/ https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/posts/148227218/ https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/posts/148235164/ https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/posts/148245029/
You can pretty much cut and paste Merc for any other team on the grid. The teams compete to win. They don’t compete to be nice people, because as we know, nice people generally don’t come first in this game. Ultimately the FIA make the rules and the FIA, orchestrated by chief clown Massi, messed up. It’s really that simple. No one sensible is calling for Max to be stripped of the wdc - only the fan boys would do that, but plenty of people are calling for the FIA to act and for Massi to get fired. Both reasonable requests in my view!
I wouldn't dream of questioning Verstappen's title now. This is over, and he is WDC. But the governance of F1 has to be reviewed and the rules clarified. We vannot have a repeat of this year.
Lewis should do a Rosberg and spare F1 and the paddock of his antics. Lets get back to racing with drivers that just want to be racecar drivers.
