Allow me to correct you - this game comes down to who will suck more; Jimmy G or McCarthy. @tomc that was for you
Thanks Ace. I'm already a nervous wreck! [emoji30] If Big D goes for a 4th and long deep in Niners territory, early in the game, we'll have our answer! As long as this don't happen again! Image Unavailable, Please Login T
There is not a team on the schedule that would surprise me if they won, even Philly. The weather is supposed to suck in TB - wet - which helps a run-heavy team, which plays right into Philly's hands.

DIVISIONAL PLAYOFFS SAT CIN TN - TEN SF GB - GB SUN LAR TB - TB BUF KC - KC I know I know, all home teams, all the favourites...and I begrudgingly picked against my beloved 49ers...but, Aaron Rodgers and Jimmy G, it's no contest. Sadly, we will never win a Superbowl with Jimmy G. The guy now has a sprained shoulder, and NOBODY LAID A FINGER ON HIM IN THE DALLAS GAME!! Is he made of paper???
Tom, don't feel bad, you could have had a near-insurmountable lead if your picks would have won, that's the only way you can get a huge lead, any of your picks could have won if they played error-free ball. Jimmy COULD play a perfect game and pull out a win, but perfection in the playoffs is hard to get, especially outdoors in Green Bay, but it has been done, ask Michael Vick and the Falcons.... Will Green Bay be rusty? Will Tennessee be rusty?
But he doesn't have to play a perfect game - he just needs to NOT lose the game like he almost did vs the Cowboys. The 49ers dominated most of that game, and the only reason Dallas STILL had a chance to win that game was because Garopollo did everything he could to hand the game back to Dallas. It NEVER should have come down to that final play, 49ers had this game won in the 3rd quarter but Jimmy G can't seem to hit a wide open receiver (ala the Tennessee game). And that INT, with a receiver 7 yards in front of him, he throws it over his head right to a Dallas defender??? He gets paid $28 million per season, there's no excuse for the mistakes he makes. Nobody is asking him to be Joe Montana or Steve Young, we are just asking him to not be Jay Cutler. Make the throws you're supposed to make, he doesn't have to fit into a tight window, or beat perfect coverage, just hit the OPEN receiver. And, don't throw it to the other team when a guy is open 7-10 yards in front of you. Is that too much to ask of an NFL QB? If he was making the veteran's minimum, I could understand. But he was the highest paid QB when he first signed that contract, yet we don't expect him to be the best in the league....just don't make the costly mistakes that he's made, and just hit wide open receivers. Remember the Superbowl, when he had Manny Sanders open for the winning touchdown, and over threw him? If he makes that throw, we would be having a different conversation now wouldn't we. A $28 million dollar QB is supposed to make that throw, and any other $28 million (or even less) WOULD have made that throw. But Jimmy didn't, because Jimmy can't. He's not a winner. Plain and simple. He's a decent back-up, but that's about it.
As I said - he would need to play a perfect game. He's never done that. Yet. And maybe he never will. Cutler just never seemed to give a crap when he threw pics.
If you think you had a bad day.... ‘Mattress Mack’ loses $4.7M in 6 days betting football https://www.reviewjournal.com/sports/betting/mattress-mack-loses-4-7m-in-6-days-betting-football-2514812 Mattress Mack lost $4.7 million in six days betting on football. On Jan. 10, Houston furniture store owner Jim McIngvale, aka “Mattress Mack,” lost $2.7 million in money-line wagers on Alabama when the Crimson Tide lost 33-18 to Georgia in the College Football Playoff national title game. On Saturday, Mack lost $2 million in futures bets on the Patriots to win the Super Bowl when New England was whipped 47-17 by the Buffalo Bills in their AFC wild-card playoff game. Mack, who placed the bets on Alabama at Caesars Sportsbook and the wagers on the Patriots at Barstool Sportsbook and theScore Bet, said Monday that he took the losses in stride. “Life happens and you move on,” said McIngvale, 70. “You know how long it took me to get over it? Two seconds each. A gambler has to be resilient, if anything. They knock you down and you’ve got to get back up. “A setback is just a setup for a comeback.” The bets on Alabama were the latest in a long line of multimillion-dollar hedge bets to offset potential losses on furniture promotions. In this case, customers were offered their money back on purchases of $3,000 or more if the Tide won.
Net worth of between 75 and 300 million per the all knowing Internet. He may need to slow the heck down! T
