Amazing how much better the undersides of these cars look, without having undercoating slathered everywhere. What a GREAT looking car! I don't really think I'd worry about how much to rebuild the engine would cost at seventy six thousand miles. Any other car this wouldn't even be an issue. Ferrari 328's aren't any different.

Chupee- I can't really say what it would cost to rebuild a 328 engine today. I owned a shop from 1980 to 2001, working on Ferraris, Maserati's and other semi interesting cars. I've overhauled at least fifty engines. Jump ahead twenty years I have no idea what parts cost. I have the engine out of one of my 328's right now, and will be overhauling it- ONLY because someone put a turbo on the car and burned holes in five of the pistons. The engines are a bit challenging to get in and out of the car, and hard to predict how many nuts will fight you removing the headers and exhaust. I'd NEVER just quote an overhaul again. Too many variables. But the 328 uses sleeves for cylinders which are easily replaceable. The heads are pretty basic. A lot of problems are simply TIME and not miles. Valve stem seals that get hard, along with the rubber in the seals getting hard and brittle. Age is as much a factor as miles. I was surprised to see some valve shims changed in the Bat 328 at the six thousand mile service. Can't imagine the valve clearance changing in that low of miles. I had a 308 that I put 40,000 miles on it, and I don't think I ever exchanged a valve shim.

I did at least 20 to 25 Maserati BiTurbo engines in a period of ten years. They were around 3500 to 4000 dollars back then. Seems STUPIDLY cheap these days. So I'm NOT the guy to ask on current prices. A few years ago, I bought a used drivetrain out of a 1989 328. Engine complete with transaxle. Maybe before summer it will hit my to do pile, and then I'll KNOW what parts cost once again.

"By the current guidlines" it needs a Belt Service on miles....

By time I am sure they are too old.
Recal though that the ORIGINAL interval for the V8 was 52,000 miles!

So there's now a huge range there, to argue about.....ahem.....discuss.
    But that's for another thread.

I have to agree with PeterS on the fact this is a nice 328 for what it would take to buy my early 308!!!
    So...there!

@jk328 as I understand the interior is in the original colour shame so this 328 has the optional ( Nero) leather rear window surround and also the headliner ?

The headliner is tan fabric and the deck and rear window surround is black.
Here are a couple photos for reference.

Rear shelf is actualy black vinyl (as much of the 308/328 interior is) unless there's been custom work done.
Some years is WAS fabric and that was troublesome, easily stained.

Leather in the windows, front are rear would bot last long, the dash (with rare Factory custom exceptions is viny, it faeds int the arm rests visually, which are also vinyl (on a real leather door trim).

Even the fabric roof liner here is exceptional, no signs of water leakage which would have left minor stains.
    A+, IMO

For the a/c and blower switches, do you have the switch plates with the blue/orange by chance? Been looking for those forever as mine are worn.

Not sure your blanket statement above is accurate. All of 328’s I’ve seen, including mine, have fabric that matches the roof interior. It DOES stain, easily and badly when water leaks in the quarter windows. I know a few owners that have redone the rear shelf in leather or vinyl but I’d say 328’s are fabric.

I bought 5 yards of very similar replacement fabric a few years ago thinking I might someday re-do mine….

The 328 rear window surround and roof interior is with the same fabric but there is an option with leather ( both together )
The original fabric can be find by the original supplier in Italy ( Maieli see www.interniautomaieli.com ) Some offered this product in US but with higher price
