Good ones, boys. I don't know anything about anything, but I'm guessing Philly's plan is try to run run run da do run run to keep the ball out of that Patriot's hands. That means Hurts. Eagles down two touchdowns at half? Here comes the porn star. I still think Eagles win.
I'm not a Raiders fan, they had some brutal calls against them. I thought the holding call late in the 3rd when Vegas got to the Cincy 1 yard line, but the penalty brought them back to the 20, was complete ********. Looks like the referees did their best to award Cincy this game. I won't even get into the inadvertent whistle. I heard it clearly in live time and thought they blew the whistle because Burrow stepped out of bounds. Everyone knows a whistle kills a play, but they award the TD regardless...unreal
Looks the same as he always has - BEFORE Brady too. Well, on one fantasy team I have both Knox and Singletary.... but I also had Jacobs. I really have no idea who to pick for my DST, or Kicker, right now I have Butker and the Rams...
I think the Bills deliberately missed the extra point so the score wouldn't be 28-3 (remember the Superbowl Atlanta choked away after being up 28-3)
They will be back on top, just give them another year or two. They really don't have a #1 WR, I question if they even have a legit #2 WR. IMO they are not using H Henry as much as they need to, and Jonnu Smith was a COMPLETE waste of money and a roster spot. And they don't have a legit, go-to, #1 RB, either. Sony Michel COULD have been that guy, but something happened, they stopped using him, and traded him. Aside from that, they have a decent team....
To use your words in the previous post..."Brady isn't stepping through the door anytime soon..." Brady was the entire team, NE will not be back on top until they get their next Brady
Pro Football Talk, usually fairly astute writers and accurate, made Bill B their Exec of the Year? OMG, what a total blunder. Didnt bring in enough talent to play down the stretch. And Bill the Exec should have fired Bill the Coach for dropping the last ~5 games. Even the lowly Raiders scored more than 17 points. Bill was unprepared and didnt have his team coached up for success.
I agree. The exec of the year (IMO) would be Cinci's GM, and - sorry - Detroit's coach - lost 5 games by a total of 20 points - two games by opposing teams' all-time record setting FG's. I'd have to consider Dan Campbell because he didn't have a defense and those guys played their asses off for him. The God-awful TV announcing crew tonight did nothing but crow about how good NE's offense was playing in the first half - except for the miscues... I guess they fail to recognize if you are making miscues, then your offense is NOT doing so good. I cannot stomach ANY game that Charles Davis guy is working as the color analyst - he talks waaaaaaay too much and just wrecks the game. Ian Eagle is great. Maybe NE's offense MIGHT have done better - but being down by 14, 21, 27 forces you to do things you are not good at - like employ a vertical passing game. And also stopping the other team helps. The nice thing about Buffalo is I had both Singletary and Knox on my playoff team, along with Josh Jacobs. Going in, I knew I would need to replace Josh after the game, but figured he would get a TD, at least he got me about 15 points.... I have Rodgers, Devante Adams, Mike Evans, I am leery of Evans but don't really know who else to choose that I know will do well, i keep flip-flopping between him and Kupp, but I need someone that I am pretty sure will get to the Super Bowl, and I'm not sold on Tyreek Hill being 100%, any ideas? A WR from the AFC that will get to the SB? One other thing I laugh at - Bill O'Brien is interviewing for the HC job at a few teams. He was fired at Houston after trading away all their franchise players, but he sucked anyway and all reports are none of the players liked him. If players don't like you, they won't 'play' for you.... Then Nick Saban picked him up as the OC to replace Sarkisian and I figured Bama's offense would suck, and it wasn't that great this year. O'Brien is a Belichick disciple, and quite frankly just isn't top-rate, IMO.... I pray to God nobody is dumb enough to hire him as a HC.
Precisely. Not one of his former staff have done anything as a head coach. The closest was Brian Flores but, that was barely average. Everyone else was well below average. Now, let's look at Bill Walsh's tree of staff...
I agree with all of this. As for a WR, do you trust the Rams to beat Arizona and then anyone else they play? I certainly don't. If so, Kupp is the obvious choice. As for KC, if you don't think Hill is 100 percent then go with their next best WR. Or, why not Stephon Diggs of Buffalo.
I know that Walsh is the modern standard of excellence, but while refreshing my memory came across this article. https://pro-football-history.com/blog/10/19/top-coaching-trees-in-nfl-history Jim Lee Howell. Who? Coaches the Giants eons ago. Hired two assistants, one name Vince Lombardi and the other, a young man from Mission, Texas named Tom Landry! Paul Brown is second in this list. Walsh was one of his assistants. T
And so the Raiders bow out from the usual suspects 1) poor defense 2) dumb penalties They were fun to watch in the back half of the season though. I thought they would go 6-12 in mid season. The cardiac kids couldn't pull one more out of their hats. Now the question is who will be the coach for next year and where can they start to rebuild from.
Great finds. What we are seeing with Bill B is the exposure of a coach made famous by his qb, something many outside of Boston realized long ago after the multitude of cheating incidents.
l agree Poorly reffed game l thought it went both ways There is a reason LV is the most penalized team in the NFL and CIN the least LV got many procedure penalties on crucial third downs They also had a lot of dropped passes on critical plays As l said poorly reffed game NY made the decision Said they would explain after the game Anyone know what the explanation was?
Only 6 rookies have ever won a playoff game The rookie did not have the experience to read the pass defenses The wind was 7 mph not 40 Allen was able to pick NR apart NE was down 14 zip and had to pass Many good passes were dropped They never caught up
I am sooo tempted to switch my pick to Philly, but as you all know, 80% of the time (or more) I switch any pick at the last minute I LOSE. Yes, I can pick Diggs going forward, but I need a pick for TODAY, you cannot select guys after they have played for this weekends' games. In playing this game (playoff challenge) for so long, what you need to do to win is pick mainly stud players from the two teams you think will be in the SB, BUT, in just 2 or 3 positions early on you can pick guys you know will do great but you know their teams will lose so they will need to be replaced. Evans? Kupp? Deebo? OBJ? The problem is all these guys are in the NFC, and I already have Adams penciled in as I think GB will be in the SB. I probably should go with Diggs because I am just not sold on KC being the 'GREAT' team the pundits think they are. As you all know, teams that win are those that get on a roll at the end of the season, and that team is Buffalo. KC has BARELY won 5 or 6 of their games. I have just looked at a ton of webcams in Tampa, it's not raining - yet - so I will stick with Evans, and with my pick of TB here, only because of my 'rule' of regretting last minute changes.
And they also shouldn't have spiked it from the Cincy 11 with 29 seconds left. From that spot they can take 4 shots in the endzone with 29 seconds left, that is a long time. Instead they wasted a down with the spike and had only 3 shots
Exactly. My rationale is Belicheck had the identical team with Bledsoe and he couldn't win a SB. Along comes Moe Lewis and knocks out Bledsoe, Brady steps in and the rest is academic
