Raiders fired their GM. This is more to do with the idiot players they they brought into the team that they knew had personal problems.

Raiders fire general manager Mike Mayock

The Raiders and general manager Mike Mayock are parting ways after three seasons.

Mayock, the handpicked choice of then-head coach Jon Gruden in 2019 to oversee the personnel side of the Raiders’ organization, was fired Monday.

“We have relieved Mike Mayock of his duties as General Manager of the Las Vegas Raiders,” the Raiders said in a statement released Monday afternoon. “We thank Mike for his contributions over the last three years in helping to form the foundation for the franchise to build upon in its future.”

Raiders owner Mark Davis and players were not available for comment.

In his three seasons with the Raiders, the club’s record improved each season, culminating this year with a 10-7 regular-season mark and their second playoff appearance in 18 seasons. The Raiders’ record under Mayock was 25-24.

But after replacing former general manager Reggie McKenzie in 2019, Mayock’s personnel decisions were marked with numerous glaring misses in the draft and free agency. He also failed to maximize the high draft picks the Raiders received in trades of linebacker Khalil Mack and wide receiver Amari Cooper.

Gruden’s resignation last October after a slew of his disparaging emails became public left Mayock in a vulnerable position. Despite the Riders reaching the playoffs for the first time in five seasons — propelled by some key players Mayock helped secure over the last three years — it was not enough to secure Mayock’s long-range future with the team.

 

But I started it by saying one thing and you took it in a different direction. Moving on...

So much for all the pundits that keep saying Kyler Murray is an all-pro tier one NFL QB.
He's OK, maybe a top-15, but I've never seen anything that tells me he will be a legit all-pro QB.

 

I wonder if he will go back to the NFL Network as a commentator?
They did say one thing right - he made some bad choices by bringing in
guys with suspect 'personalities'.

 

Kyler Murray was awful last night.

So was the entire team.

And so was the head coach. Team looked unprepared, overwhelmed, and not ready for the playoff moment.

 

Not at all! It's been nice being home. I don't miss the flights but with constant adjustments in restrictions it has been all Ontario more or less.

I said over a month ago AZ was playing over their heads and would crash. Last night was a disaster.

I know I normally do I just didn't follow the first 4 weeks and ya didn't want to come in late.

 

This is the Dak I know. Give him credit for apologizing. And I do understand his comment about making that comment in the heat of the moment and crushing playoff loss.

I agree, he seems to be a good guy, he was rather tempered with his 'criticism' of the fans,
he didn't really rip into them like some have, even though the fans were pissed at the refs.

Dallas still needs a HC, though.

I wouldn't call that heavy, when you're making $40 million per season.

Now, the $500,000 fine Belicheat was tagged for cheating....that's heavy.

 

Dak signed a 160 million dollar contract, 126 mill guaranteed, 66 mill up front,
what percentage of 66 million is $25,000? (LOL)

 

He gets 18 million a year, 500K is peanuts.

 

Doesn't matter how much you make per year, $500,000 is a hefty fine.
