    Not sure about the company, but I can tell you the fronts are the same as a 911 and the rears are 914.

    Many reports here of excellent results from PMB doing caliper rebuilds and at good price (you couldn't do it yourself for less because they do the replating, refresh the Welch plugs, etc.).

    Most of us do it the opposite way; send our existing calipers to be rebuilt.

    Another happy F-chatter here. I sent mine in and they came back looking new. My only complaint is that although they re-zinc plated the calipers, they wouldn't re-plate the pad hardware - pins and springs/clips. It was spray painted and this didn't do it for me. I had my bits re-plated with my next batch of hardware.

    Now i know this isn’t a fair comparison…. But what are peoples thoughts on doing this vs getting a BBK upgrade?? … assuming money wasn’t an issue.. is that a desirable thing to see on a car when buying?

    Is it a specific kit you are speaking of? On a 308 the rear calipers are the hand brakes. That becomes very problematic when replacing the brakes. Also 308s have never really had the reputation of being under braked like for instance a TR or an F40.

    In general for long term value the market rewards cars that are left stock.

    My experience with PMB has not been universally good.

    The rears are 914 with a different sized space between the caliper halves. 914 has a different rotor thickness.

    Yup, the 308 rear calipers are shared with not just any ordinary 914-6 (which is rare enough), but only with the 914-6 GT version. The 914-6 had solid rear rotors, the 914-6 GT had wider vented rotors, like the 308.

    PMB's price to rebuild a pair of 308 rear calipers is $349.

    Around 8 years ago, PMB had a clearance sale on alloy rear 914-6 GT calipers, they are a couple of pounds lighter (each) than the regular calipers and were $900/pair, I bought a set then to replace my leaking original rear calipers. They have a reproduction set available again now, the 914/6 GT vented or 308 rear calipers are $1,695 per pair.

    They rebuilt/restored my calipers beautifully when I decided to go full Concours with my suspension. HIGHLY recommend.

    Can someone help me here.. apparently with the rear calipers your supposed to remove something else other then the pads and pins? I took the bleeder valve out. Is it the ebrake springs? I heard something about some cover?

    The pistons of the rear caliper have mechanical "screw" mechanisms for extending/retracting them -- you can't just push the pistons in. There are "covers" both on the outboard side and the inboard side that are removed to access the piston mechanism adjustment "screw". See these threads like these for reference:

    The hex internal drive feature of the inboard cover is often stripped out. A much better aftermarket part (with an external hex drive) is available.

    New shocks and springs; powder coated sway bars, control arms and brake dust shields; replaced all sway bar and control arm bushings + ball joints; rebuilt calipers; new rotors and brake hoses; greased/replaced wheel bearings, deep cleaned and protective coated hubs and drop links, rebuilt steering rack with Felton bushing and upgraded tie rod ends.

    Set my rear calipers to them they did a great job. turnaround time was great, no problem's.. Only thing was the new bleeder I didn't like. cleaned the old ones and reused them.
