It's louder on cold start but quieter at warm idle. The Capristo had drone on the highway and no drone on the S-Line. The S-Line is louder at full throttle, regardless of revs, but at half throttle is quieter. With the S-Line the car revs noticeably faster than with the Capristo. I have a couple of videos but I don't know how to post them.
The stock 360 muffler is absolutely massive and something like 2x the size of the F430 one. I’m sure 458 is even smaller Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Yes, I can this is going to be an ongoing problem lol. You and then Randy6005’s cars have been real eye openers as to what is possible. None of these ideas are my own. Dropping this much weight out of these cars is just seems oo enticing to pass up. The 360 seems like the sweet spot in the lineup to do this on. I’m hoping I can drop the weight in the following areas. Let us know if you think I’m off base on the weight loss estimates please if you would. I’m guessing on quite a lot at this point. OEM carbon seats-80lbs CCM brakes and booster, aluminum center bells, Stradale springs, flamblocks , and bushings-80lbs Prosport Stradale bumpers(lighter than OEM?) plus remove DOT bracing-60-80lbs Challenge headers, test pipes, and Capristo3~50lbs Tiny lithium battery(it’s always on a tender) and tray delete-43lbs Interior sound insulation and radio(no sub)- ~25lbs Delete all remaining emissions and evap hardware-25lbs??? Frunk liner and removable items-30lbs Any DOT bracing behind the dash-? Challenge steering rack(have it already YESS!)? Last thing I’m thinking of doing is just building a separate, functional set of carbon doors w lexan inserts. Curious as to what the total weight loss would be but I found a set for 3000 euro. 458 is two small mufflers that definitely don’t weight what even the Capristo does I’m sure. I’ll weigh one of them tomorrow as I didn’t break down where that 50 pound loss exactly came from in the system. The shop just had a total iirc. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
When I got my sport seats they saved 30lbs The stock non power seats where about 44 lbs and the carbon sport seats were about 28
I ditched the sport seats for one piece challenge seats. That’s an additional 30 lbs over the carbon sport seats. FWIW, if you change all the aluminum trim pieces in the cabin as well as the door cards for lightweight carbon and carbon door cards from the race cars, that’s more than a battery swap.
I’m very interested to see the the electric Daytonas weigh. I’ve seen people say anything from 69-90lbs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I got lucky on being able to get a pair of these seats but they’re definitely only super light against the other oem options. There are some seats available today that are like 6-7 pounds wow! It definitely would’ve been a lot cheaper! I’m surprised that the aluminum trim weighs that much. Surely somebody has weighed it all so I’ll check that out. I don’t really want to mess w my doors so I think I’m just going to build a separate set that’ll be full carbon door and card w lexan windows(now or later since this part of the project doesn’t depend on it). I’ll leave the wiring loom in for a quick swap in and out. Maybe a carbon bonnet and remove all of the heavy hardware(latch, lift shocks, etc.)that goes w the oem lid. Maybe 10lbs there, idk. Those are the heavier CS ones. You should compare those to the light ones from the F430GT car. Those are really light. I think they weigh 2lbs for the whole thing. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Those are nice would love to seen truly the difference. I could just remove the aluminum bar. But the cable thing is so race car I love it. There is a pair on ebay if anyone wants
https://racecarsdirect.com/Advert/Details/98170/ferrari-430360-carbon-doors Don’t know if I’m posting this link correctly but these are the doors I’m thinking about for 3k euro. This set is sold but the company will produce them still special order. Seems like an easy 80-100lbs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Dying to know the stock door weight. Building these doors seems like a quick way to drop serious weight compared to trying to source or Frankenstein a CS rear hatch. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
This is exactly what I bought, minus the rear shocks and CS springs, suspension wise. Will these only work with the Modena control arms or are they compatible w the Challenge/CS arms as well? Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Why not go to the 430 challenge bushings since the shaft is aluminum and the bushings are delron. And the 430 arms are forged not cast. Once I take my lowers off ill weigh the difference.
I think I saw that Randy6005 weighed the lowers and the challenge flamblocs and it saved 1.5lbs per wheel. The uppers are shared between all models(360/430), right? These are the bushings I've already got but not installed. I got the black version but I think they're just a hard urethane vs delrin. https://www.energysuspensionparts.com/products/ferrari_various
Got ‘em. Got the used hoping that I’ll score some flamblocs w them. I’ll email them and see if that’s the case and proceed accordingly. Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Got an RMA on the poly bushings w just 4 days to spare before my 45 day return window was up. $450 that won’t all go up in flames is better than the alternative so that’s good. 3k for the Challenge flamblocs…they’re pretty proud of those things. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
