Yah is shows just how much Vegas needs Pacioretty, Stone and Stevenson on one line. Only a handful of games this year had them together. Pacioretty is just on fire thanks to the other two. Stevenson was out that game and every line was jumbled. Also that was the worst game Lehner had in goal all year. At least he admitted it. We have some dead weight this year. But with Jack Eichel coming in a month I expect we'll get our act together. Give it to the Ducks. They are playing way over their heads. Good for them. After last year they needed this.
This was no surprise. The players have been talking about not going for a while. The problem is they don't get paid if they miss games for going. If they get Covid over there they might be gone 5 or 6 weeks waiting to get healthy and cleared back to play again. IMO, the Chinese should call off the games for a year like the Japanese did. The "excuse" that too many games have already been cancelled is face saving. Most of the venues have already been booked up knowing there was not going to be hockey played. So saying they will use the time to get more games in is not factual. What is factual is the players don't want to lose money or be in a bubble and owners want to try to keep the entire season.

Canes down 4-0 in 2nd period, down 2 goals start of 3rd, score 7 straight on the road at Columbus and prevail 7-4. If there is a better coach in the NHL than Brind'Amour, I'd like to hear about it.
great hockey last night - Canes and Florida. The Panthers are the best team nobody ever sees. I think they average home attendance about 300, just like every other Miami franchise
Canes fly up to Philly Monday for the game. At 10:00 pm, the NHL postpones the Tuesday game due to Philly Covid attack. Canes had already checked into their hotel. Flyers then have full practice Tuesday morning with full squad. Baffling
Not an excuse but the Canes were also scheduled for a practice on Tuesday after the Flyers had their ice time. They get on the bus and are told that the stadium staff has already started to cover the ice for the Sixers game. Canes come back to Raleigh and get blown out 6-0 by Columbus Thursday.
They've been stinking lately. We get back Martinez tomorrow. That will help shore up our goaltending. Watching Fleury play the other day just makes me angry ANYWAY: The NHL has come to its senses and will stop testing people who don't have symptoms after the All Star Break. That should end some of this stupid protocol stuff and start to get the league back to normal.
I thought the ceremony Boston gave Willie O'ree was terrific. I watched the NHL stream live. Well done. And it was great to see Willie on camera giving a terrific speech. This guy is amazing.
I agree Bob. Classy move. Then the Broons give up 5 in the first period to Carolina, who sleepwalks to a 7-1 thrashing. Flyers latest non winning streak at 8 games and counting. A few more seasons and will be 50 years since they won the Cup back to back.
