Hi All, I recently removed the shift gate on my 550 and encountered a disintegrated spacer/gasket. I did manage to order one from Ricambi, part #168955, but I didn't know if they would be able to get one at all so I had a friend draw up a CAD design for me just in case. I wanted to share it with everyone in case somebody would like to use it. The parts are identical for the 550/575, but not sure if they would properly fit a 456 or some others. For reference the general dimensions of the part is 103x76x12 in mm. Below are pics of the broken piece, the new part from Ricambi, and the CAD design links. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1v1N4FO9Pxuxwu1OW_uNTuA_nbKM-Sk_L/view?usp=sharing Hope this gets some use! Forgot to mention, the file is an STL format ready for 3D printers. And here's a quick sketch of the dimensions.
My spacer is in pieces... 95 456. Any consensus if the 550 one will fit or has anyone tried to 3d print?
Bolt hole spacing is the same. Worst case you would need to trim the edges. If you have a 3d printer or know someone that does, then the cost to make one is pennies. Might as well try?
Thanks i do know someone to ask.. how do i open that file above? I downloaded it, but wont post (at least on my phone)
Well this was a total success! The above file printed very nice and on my 456GT lined up perfectly, screw holes and all. If there was any critique, its that a very small portion is visible in the reverse notch. It doesn't interfere at all with operation. It was printed in a light color and i was worried it would be too easily seen, but really its not at all noticeable. I can make a small run of these available if there is any interest. Next version would likely be in a darker color or painted
Awesome great to see it worked! Upon closer inspection now, looks like Ferrari changed the shift gate design between the 456 and 456M. Where the later model 98+ 456M uses the 550 shift gate. The earlier model 456 has a shift gate with a thinner left side wall. Since the design is based on the 550 that's why it's thicker than your gate. Interesting to see the cavallino design is also different. In any case you can just sand it down thinner so it looks better. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I want to say I will trim that edge down or possibly just cut out that section, but unless it really drives me nuts or catches my eye, ill likely leave well enough alone for the time being
Looking at the example above, I think the spacer can be seen in that one as well. Maybe that's just how Ferrari did it? Anyone else with an early model 456 chime in if their spacer is visible as well?
Please tell me ABS, ASA, PETG, or another appropriate filament was used. If it was PLA, please reprint as PLA will deform/melt/sticky in summer cabin temperatures.
Thank you, it was PLA.... ill see what alternatives i can eventually come up with, butni have a few months to run it for now
As for the thickness differences on the 456 vs 456M, in your 3D printer slicer you can cut the bottom 6-10mm(?) off.
