details will follow i guess....
Apparently Larry Van Tuyl has purchased the dealership - transaction closed today. He is back in the auto business after selling out to Berkshire in 2015.
I have heard Ferrari was behind the change. After all those years flying the flag at race tracks around the world. Bohica.
Hope the customer service on the sales side improve.....haven't been through the doors in 16 years because of a series of bad experiences......trying to buy what turned out to be a crappy first gen Maserati of all things.
Goodbye, Mr. Risi. May you always have fair winds and following seas. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Hmmmm. I am still waiting on a windshield for my Mondial. Maybe new owner will speed it up. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
I know Mr. Risi spent huge money on the Body Shop side, back when the 360 came out. One of three in the US to handle Certified frame repairs (and there were a LOT!) Maybe it's just "all about the money".... He was also in personal attendance at Sid Simpson's funeral. Top Shelf act, all the way..IMO
Larry Van Tuyl (the buyer) previously owned a large dealership network which he sold for several $Bn to Berkshire in early 2015 and is now back purchasing dealerships again. He apparently purchased Easy Honda in Houston last year. We also own a Cayenne diesel and really love it - get a lot of miles out of each tank of diesel.
When I worked for JRV, he told me about how FoH got started back in 1979 & even drove past their first location east of downtown Houston. Lot's of great history also. Anyone remember their former location on the south side of 59 back in the 1990's? It was a small showroom but saw my first 333sp there. Great memories.
I used to ride a 250 Bultaco back in my dirt bike/ motocross days! Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Perhaps this may allow the dealership access to greater capital, but personally I fear it may lead to a higher degree of impersonality. Having been a client of the dealership for over 20 years, I always enjoyed the personal and professional approach and relationships exhibited by Giuseppe Risi and Deblasio, and Steve Egyed- all just top notch.
