As Mr Massini quite rightly said its a Rolls-Royce Cullinan... A great example of a brand moving into the SUV market and getting it horribly wrong IMHO
BTW One attended the Ferrari Event at Silverstone in September, but was parked out the back of the pits and near some highly flammable looking tanks ... Doesn't look any better in profile or in Black .... as you probably guessed I am not a fan .... Image Unavailable, Please Login
But RR makes a ton of money with the Cullinan, apparently this is exactly what the clientele wants. RR has sold 50% more in 2021. Marcel Massini
Does that mean the amount of Rappers and Russian Oligarchs around the globe is increasing 50% annually ?
Can't disagree with that. RR wouldn't make them if they didn't sell and I believe they do very good business with this car and the Bespoke programme, its just not my cup of tea....
Argh lucky him I Pass by there every week but never saw anything other than current zupercars... PS: The Cull inane is obscene.
Yes which is why they are seen where wealth, specially new wealth, is flaunted; Russia, middle east Hong Kong etc and in contrast probably hardly sell any in places where wealth is usually hidden such as France where I have never seen a Phantom either, equally brash, whereas previous Rollses you did see once in a while. Do you have other photos of that 275GTB? Love the dark red...
Very practical in Russia, I guess. Scares right off the huudlums looking for excitement with a baseball bat or a piece under their seat and you may even survive the impact of a flying garbage truck coming your way on fire.
a 50% rise is sales sounds to me a company blowing up its balance sheet with lots of sales on finance (to be fair I suspect most luxury car brands are in a similar position). Any way back on topic. This is from Cremonini's instagram and it is my Dad's old 275GTB4 10169. The first picture is the only picture I have of it when my Dad owned it in the early 80's He brought it from the late Mick Byatt the mechanic who looked after the Daytona at the time. The story (of which the accuracy may be somewhat lost to mists of time) is that Byatt had won the car playing poker with Eric Clapton and his manager. I believe the car had been in a minor accident during Clapton/ his manager's ownership (there seems to be some debate about this although it may have been that the car was titled to his manager but in practical terms was considered Clapton's) and they had lost interest in it. Dad brought it from Byatt in a disassembled state with a deal that Byatt would complete the car. Unfortunately Byatt passed away during the reassembly process and Dad had to arrange for Vince Mezzullo to complete the work. Dad didn't keep the car that long because he needed to finance the purchase of a new striker for his football team (Brentford). He would later say keeping the 4 cam would have been a better investment. He was also not a huge fan of the 275 anyway as he found them a bit cramped inside and buzzy for his liking (a childhood issue with his ears meant certain cars engine noises had frequencies that he did not get along with). Scrolling through my pictures I found those 275s my parents sent me in 2018, taken at Pampelonne Beach. I had already seen the GTS, and assume the « NART » is a cut GTB/4, as 11057 (which was the only 275 NART Spider near St Tropez at the time) had already been repainted dark grey!
