Marcel, You're more than welcome. It was a bit nipply in the afternoon for my wife, especially with the rain, but the cars were wonderful and I had a great time. Thankfully, we only live 15 minutes from the show. I truly was amazed by virtually every 360 and 430 was a gated car except for maybe one. Also, the LM and F40's did not disappoint. Heavenly..... The Rosso Barchetta 35 was truly amazing in person. I congratulated the owner many times....Really an elegant color...that looks fantastic on a 355.....
Thanks for posting the photos. It turned out to be a nice event despite the shaky weather. The rain held out in the morning during the judging so it all worked out. I also thought the way they presented the awards was an improvement over previous Concours. Much larger turnout over last year and thank God no mask requirement nonsense. Hopefully they keep this event in Palm Beach at the Breakers.
https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/news/testarossas-and-tortellini-the-new-cavallino-classic-is-still-a-huge-success.2607/ Despite the judging drama, the event appeared to be a success, and hopefully they learn from their mistakes and improve things for next year.
Here is the 330 GTC that we restored - #10061 won Platinum First in Place and an additional award at the banquet - Best Restoration Client was real pleased...... It’s really a shame, I always applauded John for structuring Cavallino to have 5 distinctive activity events. Track, Jet Reception, Yacht Hop, Ferrari Concorso at Breakers and Sunday event at Mar-A-Lago. People have no idea what goes into pulling something like that off.
On this site, as on many others I imagine, there is a list of the prizes awarded to the various Ferraris (with s/n) present: https://tracednews.com/cavallino-classic-palm-beach-2022-all-ferraris-awarded/. Thanks to everyone who posted the photos .. really very beautiful! Does anyone know the chassis number of the red 365 GTC seen here? (the fifth photo) https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/posts/148328002/ and here? (the sixth photo) https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/posts/148328848/ I ask not because I am interested in this specific car but because I am an enthusiast of the 365 GTC in general. Thank you. Regards
All this ^^ seems to suggest it was a (large scale) “lifestyle” event long before current ownership’s attempt to make (or revamp ?) it as such.
Good Lord...How could they screw this up? "Purchased by French collector Pierre Partignon in 1972, it remained his property until 2014 (the year the Partignons died), when it passed to the current owner."
