I think the market is switching to valuing rarity instead of what was popular in the early 2000s. Roughly 50% of the 360s were red and people would rather have the only silver 360 in the club instead of the 5th red one. If I was in the market to custom order a brand new supercar today, I would not buy red with tan. I would be looking for things that no one else was ordering.

Which is why when there are other 360/430 at shows, my Rosso Fiorano always stands out from the crowd.

I did want something a bit more sophisticated and subtle. Rosso fiorano no shields.

you guys would have been left dizzy if you had attended the Cavallino show this weekend. EVERY 360 and 430 on the field was GATED except for one F1 car. I couldn't believe it.....INSANE....

Old paddle tech is just that, old. Newer paddle cars are so far superior to 20 year old F1 tech.

Gated on the other hand, reached a peak about 20 years ago, then went extinct.

I know which one I’d rather have for my commute and which for my driving nirvana fix.

I prefer to just park it in my front yard with a cardboard sign on the windshield that says 'For Sale'.

Pcar is more accommodating for lazy sellers.

Hey curt, Well I almost did exactly this. Why?

I had a PPI done on a salvage but very repairable CS 2 years ago. I arranged the inspection with a collision expert on a Friday, called first thing Monday morning after I spoke to the collision guy, and was told the car was sold. Damn. Still traumatized by that! The car was on the lift at the salvage yard I was buying from on Friday late afternoon and they sold it. Before Monday. I should have put a down payment pending the PPI. Just didn’t think of it.

I was considering using my 50k mile MT car as a donor. Depending on if the cost to source MT parts may not have been fiscally prudent to put the old girl back to MT. I would have determined that if the sale went through. I figured if I had all the F1 parts from the CS it would be tough for me not to consider F1’n the high mile Modena.

It’s an interesting question that if you bought a non CS F1 car and then basically “converted it” into a CS with all the parts… what would it be worth? Good question. I wonder what an almost CS is worth on the market… is it worth the near six figures of a manual car? Good question. I suspect that as long as it doesn’t have a CS serial number, it’s not a true CS. I would have bought the CS and restored it personally.

fyi my manual euro 99 with 67k miles would be near worthless if it were an F1 (drama added by me) be worth what.. selling price of $50k? $60k? Maybe

Good F1 examples are close to 100k now. A proper CS tribute would be worth much more than that.

I’d buy 10 67k-mile F1 cars for $50k right now. As you know, maintenance and condition is becoming more important in the current market. A properly maintained, excellent condition 60k-mile F1 car will still fetch $70k+.

In the most recent BaT results, gated 430s are now going for more than Scuderias!

In the 360 world the most recent Challenge Stradale in "resale blue" nearly hit $300K while gated cars are approaching $150k where only CSs previously traded...
