I try to figure out what new cars in next 5 years will still have naturally aspirated engines? i assume that list will be very short. Lamborghini Huracan replacement will get turbo V8 from URUS with some plugin electric motor. According to Lamborghini mangment Aventador succesor will be the only NA engine in the lineup. What more will remain NA? New Corvette Z06, maybe 812 succesor will have NA V12 and next generation Cayman and Carrera V6 NA?

I think the new aventador is going to be hybrid. Still NA but hybrid is worse than turbo for me.

I see Ford keeping a n/a V8 in the Mustang even if it’s just the top line. Also think the Corvette will keep an n/a V8.
Turbo cars make power so easily it’s hard for manufacturers to ignore.

Why? I agree weight is an issue but if they add a tiny electrical motor/battery for compliance, I think most buyers won't care.

You know I used to think that about every successive generation of cars. As I am getting older I appreciate each has its own unique character...even if that character isn't one I find all that endearing. If a tiny battery / motor lets me them keep making V12s, great in my book. As long the companies stay afloat and I can keep my humble fleet running without too much headache sourcing parts.

I don’t think that’s what they are doing though. I believe it’s 2 or three fairly big and heavy motors and batteries. The sf 90 curb weight is over 3900 lbs. However, it would seem that you are correct that buyers don’t care.
