What systems are you guys using in your vehicles? I've had V1 stealth installs with ALP jammers but I feel like theres better systems out now. I was figuring to put the escort 360C with ALPs but each installer I spoke to is suggesting Radenso or Stinger VIP. Also the pricing, 12000-15000 for these systems seem outlandish to me. I know the systems themselves are around 7000, but still, how are you going to tell me running wires warrants 5-7000 for installation.

I've done some searches on the forums but all the posts are years and years old. The V1 gen2 im running now on the window works well, has great range but its just a nightmare with the false alerts, even with JBV1 running in the background which just eats up my phones battery.

Hoping someone here has some pricing insight and can shed some light if they have any of these systems

    Thanks

I have a Radenso Pro M on the windshield. Works 100% of the time, range is spectacular and always beyond the horizon/out of sight before I even get there with 30+ seconds advance notice of the bogey, and I almost never get false alerts. I couldn’t possibly recommend it enough. Confidence in your system is important, and I have total confidence in my Radenso Pro M.

I use an Escort Max 360 on the dash. Old car had a K40. Only ticket is from laser. Not much they can do but let you know you are about to get a ticket.

Anything past a couple thousand seems like a bad trade. You can just pay the lawyers, tickets and insurance for less.

I have an older.escort max ..I would buy again
.I have confidence in it as well ..just need to remember to keep updating software which is a good thing

Escort updates the firmware even in older models which keeps any enhancements current

I had the Escort Ci Max360 combo laser / radar installed in the 458 with 3 sensors in the front. It was about $6k total (including install) as I recall.

Superb system, will be installing in the F8S. It’ll sniff around blind corners and hills.

I have my F8 scheduled to get a Radenso remote mounted system with AL Priority sensors (3 front, 2 rear), custom acrylic mounts for them, and custom display in mirror and mounting here within the next couple of weeks. Just waiting on delivery right now (Status 91). This setup is $14250 roughly installed. Don't have any experience with it yet. However from reading other radar detector forums and reviews, this was the best system with integration IMO.

I stopped installing ALP laser shifters on newer Porsches or Mercedes cars. Very difficult without taking half the car apart. The 488 was one of the easiest installs I have done. For example to get the wires thru the firewall was only a simple flap. Most cars have a rubber seal that you have to puncture and pass the wiring thorough it. Next easiest car was the Tesla- no engine up front. To the OP: definitely getting ripped off.

Thanks for all the replies guys, its greatly appreciated!

This is pretty close. For Radenso i think they quoted me around 12,500, and 15000 for stinger. While I think the Radenso/ALP will definetly have better performance, I cant get over those large jammers. I was told for our vehicles they cannot use TX (smaller heads) and need to use the RX ones. The stinger is basically invisible but those ALPs are really as good as it gets for this protection. I figure since its winter and the car really never goes out much this is probably the best time to get all this stuff done.

I have a Escort Max 360C built in the overhead console, w/ 2 jammers front and one rear. Your pricing is outrageous! When I bought the car, I put $15k in it to make it 100% to my liking. The radar system, jammers, paint correction, full wrap, ceramic, black carpeting, windshield film protection and some other things. That all in total was $15k!

Curious if you can put the 2 RX heads in the grill and one TX head in the lower or upper windshield? They say the TX has to be at least 22” off the ground.

Cheaper to rent an apartment in a state without ticket reciprocity and get a license there than spend $15k on a radar detector

Your telling me, its insane. The hardware itself for stinger or radenso is close to 7k, so i get it'll be expensive but 8k to install the system. I mean i've had integrated radar and laser installed in every one of my vehicles for the last 15 years and none of them are even close to this price. I mean your running some wires for petes sake. Oh they also told me the install takes about a week, could you imagine LOL

There is definitely different levels of installations for hte stealth systems. In the end you are paying for labor hours. You can have a quick and cheap install that is just that. Or you can spend the $$ for a completely custom install. Here are some pictures of a high-level completely custom install of a Radenso with ALP

I use a Cobra windshield mount. Yes, Cobra was cheap garbage back in the day but now make really good units for a couple of hundred dollars. Using the filters, I get very few false alerts.

I had a Valentine and just did not like it - too big and clunky.

Laser is used in my area, but rare. Even if you have a jammer, if you are going fast, they are going to pull you and ticket you. I would save your money - maybe not a Cobra but something a lot less expensive.

IMO, simply slapping a radar on the windshield of a Ferrari, is trashy. However, to each his own....

V1 hasn't let me down for anything except laser, for which no radar can really prevent. I installed laser jammers on my Porsche ten years ago, until Texas made them illegal. They were great though.

Nowadays, I wouldn't worry much about laser unless my area consistently had laser enforcement. Austin used to do it frequently, seems it has been less so ever since the police officer shortage. All of this to say I'm still a fan of the V1.

Why not use Wase. Seems to be as good if not better (at least in my area) for ID where cops are sitting? Or just get a good traffic lawyer. For $300 mine can beat any ticket I’ve gotten in the past so I stopped putting installed radar/laser systems in years ago
