Anyone put LED headlight bulbs in their 512tr or TR?

I have an 87 TR, I replaced my low beams with different bulb housings that allow me to use standard light bulbs. Then I put in LED bulbs.

The housings are not the same shape as the original sealed beams but you don't see them often.

I'm happy how it turned out.

I just swapped out the fog lights on the 90 TR; plug and play. The switch in the headliner console was melted...
I also replaced the overhead bulbs with LED.. Again, plug and play and much brighter and whiter.

I used these and put led bulbs in them. It has a front face on it vs the domed original bulb.

This looks like a great upgrade for the TR! I would love to see what the consensus is on the headlights.

To sum up, here’s a summary of everything you’ll need to replace all the old bulbs in a Ferrari 512 TR with LEDs:

• 4 x Red 1156 BA15D single contact LED (stop lights and tail lights)
• 2 x Red 1157 BAY15D double contact LED (brake lights)
• 2 x White 1156 BA15S single contact LED (reverse lights)
• 6 x Amber 1157 BAY15D double contact LED (front and rear turn signals)
• 2 x Amber 194 T10 wedge base LED (front side markers)
• 2 x Red 194 T10 wedge base LED (rear side markers)
• 7 x 1210 T5 mini-wedge LED (auxiliary brake light housing)

Any clue as to how applicable this reference list is to an early Testarossa?

 

How did you get the lights to fit the original buckets? Did you have to modify both?

 

No issues with heat sinks, there is a lot of room behind the original bulbs.

Be careful not to have the 512TR foglights too hot.

You cannot buy them anymore ....
