The talk about Charles is rubbish, if not for strooo in hungary and ferrari mistake at Monaco he would most likely have won both races....add 2 poles and he would again be a hero. Charles as shown he is most probably the fastest driver in the field, as well as a top fighter against the very best.Charles is the real deal.

    Agree
2022 is a decisive year for both Charles and the Scuderia.
Sainz is a very good driver but I expect something better from Charles.
    After all he’s the « predestinato »;)

    Whoa!

Thanks for that, @maha ! Where is that from?

Looks legit and looks great in red again but if this was a rogue leak that’s not cool. Great for us, but doesn’t reflect well on the security within the team.

About what we’re seeing, looks to be pull rod at the back. Pretty clear view of the diffuser and interesting to see strakes/vortex generators on the top-side of the diffuser. The area of the cooling exit, I thought, was meant to be farther aft.

Ferrari to run four-day F1 test at Fiorano
    By: Jonathan Noble
Ferrari is to conduct a four-day test at its Fiorano test track this week as part of its build-up preparations for the new Formula 1 season.

While work is continuing on its 2022 challenger, which has a codename of 674 and is being launched on 17 February, the Maranello outfit wants to ensure its drivers and team personnel are back up to speed after the winter break.

It has therefore slated in a four-day run with last year's SF21 at its Maranello test venue for regular drivers Carlos Sainz Jr and Charles Leclerc, as well as Robert Shwartzman, who is its official test driver.

Shwartzman, who took part in last year's post-season Abu Dhabi tyre test, will start the test on Tuesday before running again on Friday. Leclerc will test on Wednesday, with Sainz getting an outing on Thursday.

As well as being an opportunity for the drivers to get back up to speed with F1 cars, Ferrari mechanics and engineers will also be on hand to get themselves best prepared as possible for the challenges ahead.

Ferrari finished third in the 2021 constructors' championship and it hopes to further close the gap on Mercedes and Red Bull this year.

Ferrari forced to change Fiorano test plan amid F1 rule confusion

Ferrari has had to make a last-minute change to its test plans for Fiorano this week amid uncertainty over Formula 1’s rules.

With current car testing restricted to the official pre-season tests only, plus limited filming days, it means Ferrari would not be allowed to run the SF21 at Fiorano this week under the current published regulations.

A separate rule is written down that covers teams running older cars, but this is clear that they need to be at least two years old.

It states: “Testing of Previous Cars (TPC) shall be defined as any track running time, not part of an Event, in which a competitor entered in the Championship participates (or in which a third party participates on behalf of a competitor or a supplier of a homologated power unit), using cars which were designed and built in order to comply with the Formula 1 Technical Regulations of any of the three calendar years falling immediately prior to the calendar year preceding the Championship.”

It is understood there has been a request from the teams, because of the massive change in the 2022 rules, to tweak the testing rules to allow them to run 2021 cars this year as there is little performance advantage they can gain from doing so.

However, with no clarity yet offered to Ferrari by the FIA about the legality of this, since the sporting regulations have not been ratified, it has instead opted to run its 2018 car while it awaits a decision on where the rules are at.

A statement from the team said: “The test programme that Scuderia Ferrari was to carry out starting today on the Fiorano track was changed this morning.

“Waiting to receive an update from the FIA on how the definition of "Test Previous Cars" will be applied in 2022, which establishes which car can be used in this type of test - it was decided in the session that a 2018 SF71H will be used. The detailed programme will be announced later.”

I just hope Ferrari gives our lads a good car to compete for the podium. While I would like to keep my expectations tempered down, it would be great if we could fight with the top order.

RedBull screaming about cheating again so soon when nothing was proven against Mercedes LOL. Yet RedBull was forced to change their wing earlier in the 2021 season. The gifted title team should really just shut up.................... Oh.......sorry they now are not an engine builder yet either............so.
