I am going to start looking for a black 488 GTB..no rush, right now all these cars are overpriced..in my mind... hope they pull in a bit...dealers are charging 100k over sticker on lambo suv
Saw and talked to the owner of a gorgeous metallic light blue (forgot the color name) 488 Spider with a WHITE interior. Absolutely the most stunning 488 I’ve ever seen. I was parked right next to him in my 2004 Rossa Corso 360 Spider with crema color interior. Anyway, he told me that his interior was called white; not crema. I would love to find that same type of 488. Just amazing looking IMO.
Haven’t driven a 488 yet but visually to me the F430 was always beautiful and timeless design. Looks though is so personal so it is whichever speaks to you more when you look at it. The 488 will be worlds different from the 430 in performance and comfort. For me that’s the digital age vs the end of the analog age. At the end of the day they are both Ferraris and amazing machines you will be happy with either. For the price difference though you could look at adding a different experience to your f430 like a porsche , caterham, Atom, emira, etc. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
On a related note, I recently went through the same exact dilemma with regard to my 2007 F430 spider. After much looking around, I totally flipped the switch and traded it in for a 2016 McLaren 650 S spider. Zero regrets and LOVE this car!! In a perfect world I would’ve kept them both, but the smoothness of the ride and the new technology is amazing. I imagine that is how you would feel about the 488. Good luck Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Congrats Cole! To be honest, a 488GTB is no match for a 650S, the McLaren is in a league of its own... ok, I may be a little biased. I also have a 650S, but as a complement to my Scuderia and not as a replacement. I love them both, they are both sensational cars in their own way. In 2016 I bought my 650S new and compared it extensively with the 488GTB. The 488GTB was a bit of a disappointment for me. In my eyes, Ferrari paid too much attention to the two letters GT in the 488GTB, I guess Ferrari wanted to fulfill too many customer needs. An F430 somehow offers even more sports car feeling. But as I said, the 488GT is with its turbo engine a damn powerful car.
I do like the mclaren 720s BUT I am afraid of all the issues I have heard with Mclarens... I think Ferrari will have a better resale value.
Yes. Thanks much ! I truly loved the 430… just could not keep both/. Luckily, I really am in love with the 650..: it just seems/ is perfect. You still have yours? And Bocaf430, if you get a McLaren, I have a great Indy mechanic I can refer you too. Just get a well sorted car, and enjoy! As we know, all of these cars have issues.. but damn, they’re fun Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
McWhat? Id rather get a Porsche. At least they make their own engines. Ferrari forever! Now seriously, enjoy your car .. they are nice!
Yes, I still have mine, I love it, I love both. And no, mine has no issues at all. There are a lot of untrue stories being told about these cars. Enjoy yours!! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Here is mine....crazy amount of CF on it the build sheet indicated something like a total of $38,000 in CF options ! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Check out the first post in this new thread. Made me think of this discussion. "Went from F430 to 488 and miss the NA sound. Looking for a scud to replace my 488." https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/2008-2009-f430-scuderia.654697/
Is it just me, Macs just leave me cold, its the only car brand that I have zero interest in, and I could not tell one from the other!
Man i feel the same! The rear ends never seem to look right! I have heard the acceleration is phenomenal but we all know its not everything and they do suffer from turbo lag from what i have heard Im sure it would blow me away to drive one but i get the feeling after a while the fun may die off and feel synthetic
I have driven a couple and they are a machine, very quick and capable car, but the looks do nothing for me. They look like Power Rangers personal cars to me and they all look the same, I just like the doors! Second hand they are a lot of car for the money, as the depreciation is quite steep on them, but they are not for me and I am with this kid... Image Unavailable, Please Login
I can understand you well, no problem. What's exciting is this: if I had to choose between the Scud and the 650S, I'd keep the McLaren. This car is massively superior both technologically and in terms of handling. My son, however, would keep the Scud. He loves the drama of the Scud more than anything. But in the end, I'm lucky enough to keep both of them. Appearance, of course, is a very personal thing. I had the opportunity to trade in the 650S for the 720S. I didn't do it and I never will. Because for my taste, the 720S is far too ugly, although the car is once again superior to the 650S in terms of performance. So I can understand if someone doesn't like the McLaren's.
great pic…have one similar of my scud and a buddies 675lt. He also happens to own a scud as well. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I know they are good a friends got a 600LT which I have driven a few times amongst others. I completely appreciate the car and they are weapons, but as long as you like them that's all that matters.
