Just ordered some for my GTA, why not …they look better than the worn rubber. Does anybody have them ? Any thoughts or pics ?
I will put some before and after pics up. I also ordered the dead pedal which I hope replaces (not just covers) the ugly black rubber.
I did, Fast Cars down in Redondo installed them for me and they look great. The dead pedal required minor modification to the carpet to fit properly - but nothing big. They are great. Image Unavailable, Please Login
They look great! I went to take this on this afternoon using the same holes as yours for reference. It looks like there is something very important and electrical behind the dead pedal that I don't want to drill into. I think I'll use the 4 outermost holes as that doesn't appear to interfere with whatever module is behind there. The self tapping screws that came with the pedal look to penetrate the metal behind the dead pedal by about 3-4mm, and with a blind sweep of my fingers I couldn't feel anything that I'd accidentally hit. Is all the carpet behind the new dead pedal cut away, or is the pedal installed over the top? I tired zooming on the picture but couldn't be sure.
The carpet was cut. FastCars Redondo asked me before they cut it and gave me my options. Those guys do great work BTW, I recommend them highly. Multi-million dollar cars just flooding the place and I get a personal call from Craig about cutting the OE carpet in my 456 to fit a dead pedal. Gotta love that !
Got them installed today, took a bit longer than I expected, but I went very slow. @Mirek I don't know what Fast Cars charged you for labor, but it was worth every cent. That's a tight space to work in, and getting the old rubber and glue off the pedals was no easy task! I ended up not cutting the carpet as I didn't trust myself to do a good enough job. The dead pedal sits tight and flush over the carpet and to me it looks pretty good. They definitely dress up the footwell and I agree that this is how they should have come from the factory. Onto the next project! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Very nice. I had those pretty coco mats in my old 911s, but dirt filters right through them unless they have changed them.
I believe the current coco mat's have a fully rubberized backing. Much better than the ones so popular in the late 70's, early 80's. Those pedals are great looking in the car and the mats show extraordinary taste and creativity .....
