I am not smitten with the Dino. The market says most aren't either. To me its kind of a toy car. That's the best I can describe it.

The 246 is one of the most enjoyable cars I've ever driven. Also right up there was my 1977 280Z.

Toy car or not it's a stunning looking machine.

Blows away say a Lusso or GTE. Or pretty much Daytona and EVERYTHING after styling wise. I see it as a mini P4.

There has always been V6 snobbery. It's a shame the market in general doesn't think like you. Then I could get one for say Fiat Dino coupe money!

Wasn't intended to be mean spirited but rather describing how I see it in response to the questioned asked. I generally do like the look of it but its diminutive size and engine does not put it on the list for me.

A Dino 206/246 GT is a gorgeous Enzo-era Ferrari with six cylinders.

Funny, I’m the opposite - larger, heavier cars leave cold even if they have a ton of power. Good thing there are all sorts of cars for all sorts of tastes.

It seems that the long running "is the bubble due to burst?" thread has spontaneously turned into a Dino appreciation forum. It was dying of old age anyways so this could well be the best thing to have happened to it.

I suggest we close this thread and if dinos ever go back down to 80k USD then we can reopen it!

That would be awesome. That would mean the nicely restored cars could become regular drivers again. I can’t wait to start shopping.

You know what happens next, when we do get the inevitable an adjustment or dip, watch them come out of the woodwork:

"You see! I was right all along!" (took 10 years, but hey - who's keeping track?)

the Z 8 in germany with such mileage is about 200.000 €, with a little less mileage about 280.000 €
and then the Z 8 alpina starts with 300.000 €

but 405.000 US $ hard to believe :(

These have been rising for some time now as they’re becoming even more of a cult car. How much of a premium is not only completeness but also highly color dependent as well. It looks like three were in it until 300k, then two bidders to 400. Maybe some manipulation at play over 300… or typical BAT lunacy.
