Excuse my ignorance, but what does the range means? Example: “Sold € 86,250 EUR - 97,500 USD + fees”

Why not sold at a fixed number?

I believe that the first number is the price in Euros and the second number is the price in dollars. There is no range being given for the sold price.

That is correct. RM/Sothebys tries to represent an estimated value on the cars prior to the auction date. It gives potential bidders a guideline on how much money to ask their wifes for.
Since the auction was in Paris, Euros is the currency. I just took the time to convert it for everyone's convenience to USD.

LOL. Thank you. I wasn’t looking at symbols. I got carried away with the first publish mentioning estimates.

I think some models are inching up significantly.
    The two carb GTS cars for example.. 1978, 1979 - $114,000. $115,000
    add 15 % for buyer fees :
    $114.000 + $17,100 = $131,100 USD
    $115,000 + $17,250 = $132,250 USD

Yes, it's interesting to see the spread between the card'd and injected car results from the auction. Pretty much apples to apples as all were in similar condition.
Also interesting to see the 'glass car selling for pretty much double the price of a carb'd car.
The Mondial T was well bought, IMO. The 'project' 308 was very well sold!

Did you guys notice the wrong position of the drivers mirrow in the Vetro?

I lot of questions for that car, for that price!

Geez, you're right. I wonder why they did that? Hopefully, it wasn't because there's no solid fibreglass where the mirror used to be. There are two thumb nuts missing from the airbox. ( no big deal )

    $181,508 USD + 15% = $208.735

Doesnt look like a perfect car at all. I bet the driver's door is steel, the vetro one lost in a colision.

Another guess is that car lived in USA, therefore the replacement with a USA version door.

Too many question for that price.
I doubt there is good documentation neither

I started to second guess our observation of the mirror location and checked the images of my car.
Same position as the RM vetro car. o_O:rolleyes:

The position of the mirror in your car is correct as it is a USA version.

But that Vetro is a dry sump european version.

Oh..very interesting. Yes, mine is a US version. Thanks for the lesson Julio
That's why your steel door theory on the vetro makes sense.

An auction is an auction and doesn't mean much. Selling price depends about the car conditions more than the model itself: a time capsule 308 2Vi can sell at more than a 308 vetro in average conditions.

This said, prices are going up.

    Ciao

I've got a deposit down on a Euro-spec 308 QV and it's a bit of a project car with no real prior documentation. Can anyone confirm where the car was originally delivered, etc? Thx VIN is ZFFLA13S000059201. Any info is greatly appreciated! Thx!
