your avatar says DW but that looks like an older Gretsch set as well!?
I have my 275 almost 20 years, my Gretsch more than 30 years....(was the most expensive thing I bought when I was a student..), they both still sounds great!

Wow. So the book does exist. I don’t believe it’s ever been mentioned in the book forum. I’d love to get a copy but that seems impossible if even you can’t get one.

    Romano,
Gretsch is a US maker of drums and other musical instruments (chiefly guitars).
Also common among drummers in the US you may find Ludwig, Pearl (when I was a kid I had the less expensive Pearl brand, CB 700), DW (Drum Workshop), and probably more I'm forgetting.
For cymbals people would use Paiste and Zildjian and probably others.

I got this set just about when slingerland bought Leedy..got it at Pro drum shop in Los angeles Leedy badge on 18" bass, no Badge on the slingerland Toms. Sound Great !!
    Now playing DWs

Here is my Gretsch set had at the same time as the Slingerleedy set. These were set #2 and pro drum would ship them to gigs I could not drive to or if I was using my set at a club six nights a week and had a session to play they would go there.

Clever to put your name on the bass drum! Good for the scene to remember a drummer for the next gig.....
Those were the days! Drums acoustic, jazz all over and no metoo....roads were empty, cars as safe as the drivers skills and carburetors....as many as possible.

Now tictacs,(sorry for the non-musicians but all songs today are controlled by a central metronome) everything computerized, traffic too intense and fuel over 2 eur per liter.
Great drumkit Bill! Still playing (and still driving carburetors? I do and 6 double of the latter......

    Ciao

Bill, and you other drummers, what do you think of Craviatto drums? I am not a drummer, but once we were in Pebble Beach at Roy's and they had a quartet playing and the drummer had a beautiful set of Craviattos. Just curious as to preferences, and personal opinion. I know of the Zildijian K cymbals made in Turkey. Not much more than that.

Very very very high quality drums, "solid shell". The founder Johnny Craviotto was a great guy, sadly he died a few years ago but I'm sure the very high standards still apply to the drums with his name on them. Expensive as hell, but worth every penny.

Thanks Mario. Interesting to hear there was a "Craviatto" behind the drums, so to speak.

I guess you have a point.... But 3269 had my set of drums in it most of It's life :) thats how the drum thing got started people asked to see the set that the car had transported, then all the drummers (and there are a lot of em on F-chat) got involved and we drift once in a while :)
