Two pics of my dry sump Euro GTB (30693): One when I imported it to the USA 37 years ago from Dusseldorf, West Germany (at the time/1985). I sold it in ~1990, really missed it, found it and bought it back in 2020 (the other pic). So depending on how you look at it, I've owned it for 2 years or 7 years and/or 37 years (FWIW, I added the mirrors and rear deck spoiler 35 years ago...)

I have had 24865 (Grigio 78 308 GTB) for almost 27 years. Purchased with just over 30K miles form one of the best Ferrari sales men ever. It now has over 85K miles and has lived and traveled all over Canada and the US as we moved from Ontario, to Texas to Virginia, Florida and finally NC. Still all original aside from the 328 wheels (the older 14" wheels are stored). Here is a more recent picture of Bud and myself re-connecting with 24865 in the background (Feb 21, 2015), just about 20 years after he sold her to me. Bud, if your lurking...thanks and I will see you some time in 2023 when I retire again in Florida. Image Unavailable, Please Login

    Spectacular car and background!

It may be just my own personal taste, but I don't like how so many car photos are now shot with wide-angle lenses. Wide angle lenses stretch the near fender forward and push the rear end backward. To my eye, it is unattractive distortion, but I must be a minority because everyone does it.

Post #104 in this thread shows the effect I am complaining about:
Two photos of same car; one with normal lens the other with wide angle.

It's because most people nowadays use the camera in their cell phone. Cell phone cameras are designed for selfies and head shots, and are only optimal in the very center of the photo. The edges are always distorted, and yes it is annoying. The worst part IMO is that it makes wheels oval instead of round in side shots.

Check out yelcab's photo in post #97 - look at how badly the wheels are distorted, and the shape of the car is wrong. I don't know if he took that with a cell phone camera, but that's typical of what you see.

Y'all got better eyes than me. Interesting observations, but I don't see what you guys are seeing. And I went back and forth from iPhone to laptop to compare.

    Yanny or Laurel?

I have a iPhone 13 Pro. Here are two pictures of my car taken with the 0.5x lens and the 3x lens. I’ve tried to keep the angle on the car the same.

Well, that's obvious. The others mentioned above, not so much.

Really? You can't see the wheels on yelcab's car are significantly out of round? To me it's screaming obvious. Cringeworthy, in fact!

It is really hard to "see". We've gotten so used to wide angle shots our brains have adjusted.

Maybe in the slightest of slightest (lol) but certainly not "cringeworthy" or "screaming obvious."

10 months. Wanted it for forty years. Have really enjoyed it. Just moved so this was it on its first day in its new garage. It's an 86.

@Brian A - Actually, the two photos in Post #104 were taken with the same iPhone 8... kind of: The first picture was originally taken in 1985 with a Cannon AE-1 & 50mm lens. I concur with you, I'd rather have realistic aspect ratios, so it's time to break out the DSLR for a re-shoot!

I've owned mine for four and a half months… but I think it's only been in my possession for about three or four weeks. Currently, it's being restored back to it original color (verde pino metallizzato). But here's a shot of it during the short time I had to enjoy it!
