Also the wing of my Exoto 641 was broken, unfortunately that era rear wings was tiny and it is enough that the packet fall and the gravity make his work!
The gt4me solution was the best way but it has an extra cost and the factory doesn't care. Sorry for may english!

GP Replicas does a much better job protecting the rear wing on their models with foam.

Hi anyone recommend good paints for a resin model? I took the plunge and bought an ABC Brianza 342 America. Seems like Humbrol is popular but welcome any advice!

I've now seen many pictures and even a video of several colour versions of the 275 by CMC and it looks horrible. The opening parts don’t fit well, the car sits too high on it’s wheels, window trim is wonky etc. Also the roof seems too flat to me.
My experience with QC by CMC is negative as well. So I would not buy this model. They've also announced the Alfa Romeo P3 which has been on my wish list for a long time. I'll have to see it in real life and perhaps compare it with the version that Tecnomodel has announced.

    CMC 265GTB/C...
Not impressed. CMC still sticks with using materials that are way out of scale, and look heavy handed, plus there are always some fit problems, and wrong finishes on some parts. Also some over sized and under sized pieces, and some poorly finished parts…always. It’s disappointing that they don’t understand about improving these areas which they should and could do. All of the powers that be at CMC do not learn and do not listen. They just stick with their same old formula over and over again. Prices go up, but the quality/value does not. I know there are plenty of CMC enthusiasts, and I expect they’ll be happy, and that these models will sell well for CMC…BUT… these models still do not qualify as *truly* great high quality models or high end. These 275 models have very many problem areas. I won’t be buying or recommending their 275 GTB/C models. As an aside, overall they seem to do a better job with their classic cars than with their sports cars and race cars. Almost as though there is a different team of engineers involved in creating those.

The new Tecnomodel Vanwall. Not a fan of Tecnomodel as I can't forgive them screwing up the Maserati 151/3, but this one looks pretty good, although the detailing looks a bit rough for a 1/18 (panel lines etc.)

The fifties grand prix models by Tecnomodel look pretty tempting. The wire wheels and tires look very nice. Strangely the tires on their fifties/sixties sports cars look horrible. However, the suspension and interior detail on these grand prix models is very toyish. Should be much better for the price. I wanted to buy the 375 F1 but those poor details put me off.

...and the Vanwall looked so promising. I don't understand how Tecnomodel keeps screwing up the lines of their GT and racing cars. Windscreen is too flat and low, side windows are too low, nose is too short and too high and there is something strange going on where the nose meets the windscreen. Overall, a very clumsy model.

    About the seats and s/n:
Attached a scan of the same real car.
The seats are clearly blue (changed to blue?) and obviously the s/n is 0794.....

I think I saw color photographs of the introduction of all racing cars in February 1961: the seats were blue but where I saw?????

No wonder he had problems in that race if he had rain tyres on the front and slicks on the rear!

I do love the model though.

    Zandvoort 1979?

This year is more memorable for the 2nd place fight with René Arnoux at Dijon (with a thought for the forgotten win of Jabouille).

GP Replicas - it's available now.

Also - anyone have an opinions or experience with MCG models or specifically, their new 1/18 Ferrari 312 T2b?
It looks pretty basic and the driver/helmet a bit daft, but shape OK - not completely terrible for a value priced model.

Received my 158 from GP Replicas this week. I’m no expert but very happy with it, even if there are no pedals in the cockpit.
