This is owned by a Belgian acquaintance of mine, he bought it in the UK in 2006 after becoming frustrated at not finding a left hand drive car on the continent. Predictably he found driving a right hand drive car in Belgium awkward so hasn't used it much. He made his money with his advertising agency and actually used the car for an amusing ad:) The car is actually quite close to the English channel so not far for a British buyer. I am not involved with this Ebay auction. The first photo is from when it was still in the UK, the second one at a show in mainland Europe after he bought it.

Beautiful car. I owned one over 20 years ago, I loved it. A great GT car and a unique design. Bertone produced a car that that stands up to anything designed then. I still rebuild the hydraulic cylinders and the headlight seat switches.

Welcome Wil, do you recall the chassis number and do you have any photos of it in your files or attic? we'd love to see them, good or bad.

You certainly had the space to stretch its legs out in Utah:) I drove through there in 2000: Maser Miglia Denver to Monterey, 1300Miles/2000kms big sky country, love the desert!

Good to know you do rebuilds.

Hello Will and welcome to the Khamsin thread!

I have sent you a PM (or Conversation I think that's what it's called - don't really know if there is a difference between the two..)...

I used Will's cylinder rebuild services in the past with excellent results. Good to hear he is still doing them.

If you do not already have your set of gaskets and head gaskets speak with Leo Peschl in Cologne, he is making new high standard ones for the inline sixes and I think the V8's.

    Already got them from MIE.
Leo is, however, now working on the final drive:)

What do the backsides of the intakes look like? You could blast them with walnut shells if they need any clean up.

Is there more information on the head gaskets from Leo Peschi, both V-8 and 6 cylinder?

Peschl not Peschi, l not i.

    Leo-peschl.de

He is an Austrian enthusiast who made a fortune selling Caterpillars in Russia twenty years ago and then, frustrated that he could not find a workshop focused on classic Maseratis, settled in Cologne/Koeln, Germany a few years ago and started this restoration workshop. German professionalism at its best so he has had gaskets and numerous other parts recreated to high, more modern standards. That being said he is much more of a specialist on the inline Six's than the V8's.

He and his sales staff speak good English.

I enjoyed meeting him when I was retained to do the Classiche Masters book on the best Maserati restoration workshops three years ago.

Hello all, who is coming? I will be there all day this Wednesday the 16th and look forward to meeting some Khamsinisti!

PM or email me so we can get in touch.

I will have news as well:)

In unrelated news here is a nice shot of AM120-392 in New Zealand in a recent photoshoot. A couple of very nice videos were made I will ask the owner if I may post them. This is of course the ex Fritz Harms car, President of the Maserati club Holland for years, the car on the cover of my 2013 book, in Rame Metalizzato (copper).

He will bring it to KHAMSIN CINQUANTA so the longest distance award will be hard to take away by anyone else as NZ is on the exact opposite side of the globe to France and Switzerland where K50 will take place!

PS:...and here is the video shot that day, very nicely done with music but without covering the engine sound, while the actual music is very evocative of the dolce vita years that were still current when the K came out but were ended by the October 6, 1973 energy crisis.

    Enjoy:)

    Putting it all back together.
    Need new head bolts.
Anything better out there than calling MIE for a pack of 20?

    TIA

    Hi Borologist...

Head bolts? Do you mean items 24 through 28 on Table 1 of the Khamsin parts manual??
I also looked to see if MIE listed them on their 'NEW' website, but did not see anything..
But that doesn't mean they don't have them... Maybe Campana or Candini?

    Hi Mike---

Please see Khamsin parts manual Table 2, #67.
BTW MIE does have an aftermarket set.
I was just wondering if anyone had discovered something stronger.

    Thanks.

    Did you try Carrozzeria Campana?

I know you are aware of them but they would be my first call.

-Anyway I will be at Retromobile in Paris all day tomorrow, it is a smaller event this year due to Covid it seems no Americans are coming and very few Brits.

Any owners or friends message me if you will be there, I will be on site 10Am to 6PM.
