Re. Whitting: "You can't speak ill of the dead" they say. Well, I agree that it wasn't "above board", but Hamilton didn't benefit immensely: he finished only 9th.
True. But if one followed fchatter ktu's "mission statement" with regards to rules, Whiting's "call" to let the marshalls ONLY help Hamilton and not the others whom were in the same predicament IS A CLEAR VIOLATION OF THE RULES of which HAS NEVER BEEN SEEN BEFORE!!!.....but I digress. Nonetheless, the race director had final.say then with Lewis in Nurburgring 2007 and the help of the crane while others didn't AS WELL AS Masi having final say at Abu Dhabi 2021 thereby making both incidents (which we've never seen before) LEGAL.
So you tryung to make me believe that it's a coincidence that FIA may change rules relating to Abu Dhabi after Abu Dhabi? Yeah they had plenty years in the past and future to change these rules or relocate Masi, but it just so happens that they will do it after 2021 Abu Dhabi. I was born at night. Not last night.
Both were illegal, in my view. The role of the race director is to be impartial, I would think. This is why there is uproar if he deviates from that.
When I write about "wanting Masi's scalp", it's a figure of speech obviously. I do not wish him physical harm, but his position as race director is now untenable, and he should be removed, IMO. Latifi? He is in no way implicated in this, and I don't understand why people threaten him.
of course I’m joking. I think that Masi stays but will have a supporting cast Around him, more cut and dry rules and most importantly won’t have idiots like Toto and Horner screaming at him. in the end I don’t care. Just want a competitive season with several Teams vying for the win. Think 4 wheel motoGP….
So you are saying that Masi knew that by making the decision that he did he KNEW Max would win. You say a lot of nonsense but this one takes the prize as one of your best. Fact is the last lap was a nail biting race between them up until when Hamilton was alongside Max at about 1.12 into the race. The attempted overtake was not successful and Hamilton seemed to slow down accepting that he was not going to pass Max.
I honestly don't really care about incidents like that. Should Hamilton have been removed? No. But he was, and like any driver and team, he didn't like a gift horse in the mouth, and didn't make his 9th place finish any less legitimate. What I have always had a problem with is that Hamilton causes lots of silly incidents for which he is not punished. During his McLaren years, the year Rosberg won, and the year Verstappen won, he was constantly getting into avoidable contact collisions, the majority of which were his fault. He also does things like blatant course cutting and crossing the pit lane entry/exit without the penalties other drivers get on a first offense. I don't even think officials have a love affair with Hamilton, so much as they learned after punishing him in Spa 08' that the fury of Ham nation is red hot.
I suspect this is mostly a non-story and Latifi's making a mistake to keep banging on about it. 10 to 1 it's just trolls most likely...and or perhaps fans of certain other driver (not Lewis) in it for the lulz. I don't think Latifi really inspires strong feeling from anyone (except maybe Dan Ticktum) ...even those railing about pay drivers would have to admit he has proven competent, safe, and seemingly pleasant.
I am very well aware of the advantage new tyres have over old. What you overlook is that it was one lap. Do you think Max would have given up the fight so easily? He would have gone all out as he had nothing to lose. In Hamilton's position I would have turned that engine up to maximum power and just gone for it, if I am going to lose I want the loss to be by the lowest margin.
Lol, it REALLY doesn't. Clarifying the rules is just that, clarifying. A loophole has been found, and subsequently closed. See DAS, for example.
It wasn't Max fault either the race director took the decision he did, he just took advantage of the situation and won a championship he very much deserved and that he would have only lost due to mercedes drivers actions (playing bumper cars with the red bulls).
Masi knew that Max would have a big advantage. Horner knew, that's why he was on the radio. infact everyone including you all knew. Guess what a driver does with a big tire advantage? They pass the car in front of them!
Why would they change the loophole if the loophole is fair and has no threat of giving advantage to drivers? Again changing anything admits that foul play happened, whether it was a loophole or whatever
Masi knew that Lewis would have a big advantage. Toto knew, that's why he was on the radio. infact everyone including you all knew. Guess what a driver does with a huge time advantage? They stay ahead. (see Lap 1, Lap 38). If you can't even understand the difference between loophole and foul play, what the point of even countering. Please go back to school and attend comprehensive reading classes.
Thing is, safety cars are never fair, the guy who built and advantage is always gonna lose it. I never liked them, but the fact is they exist, period. The guy in front will always get screwd, and the ones behind will catch up. I don't like it, but it's the same for everyone. At Imola, Elton was highly beneficiated by this, he gained alot of points that day because of the safety car, this time, it was Max turn to make the most of it....everyone knows elton's was born with his ass facing the moon, but luck doesn't last forever, and Max got it this time, and he made the most out of it, Red Bull took the change and Max delivered, in one lap, he overtook, he defended and did a nice slide entering thr finish line, he won in style! I'm not his biggest fan, far from it, but this year he was by far the best driver out there, this is undisputed by anyone with one good eye. So congrats to him. I cannot say the same about the constructors champion.
Plot twist in other news Latifi has signed a shock 2 year deal with Oracle Red Bull..in a statement ahead of testing for 2022 cars he said he was as surprised as anyone ....
Did you not know that Lewis built the gap? Are you condenming Lewis for building a gap? Do not you know that using a loophole to give a driver an unfair advantage is foul play? Do you not know that we wouldn't be discussing this if foul play didn't occur? Do you not see that the FIA is investigating? You say I need to go back to school. Did you even go to school?
