No, waiting for LaFerrari.
Ah, it's been a while. Here's a pretty rare one. Car had about 5 gallons in it so I corrected for that. Pretty much what Porsche said for a Komfort with "Extras". I think this one has all the extras. Great, thanks! F40 was US specs? about the others, a lots of confirms. Veyron 2065 Kgs, as tested Enzo and CGT, as tested in Eu magazines (Evo tested the enzo a bit lighter than CGT with the same fuel) F50 No USA: similar to Sport Auto (german), 1,320 Kgs with 11/4 fuel Scuderia: a bit heavier than tested (maybe less CF optionals) 360 CS:... heavy GTO: ok
...or a 918, or a P1 for that matter... CS at 2950 dry is about 200 heavier than advertised (at least what I recall)... and it is a no radio/ fire extinguisher version! US vs. euro car? Needs a re-test.
Adding 918 Weissach... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Cool! I got a similar weight for a 918 Weissach. 60 to 130 is about 5 seconds if I remember correctly
This is such an interesting thread I hope it can be picked up for this decade to see if we get any supercars that trend DOWN in weight. The most interesting to me is the difference btwn say a CGT at 3250lbs wet vs a Euro F40 at a scant 2,775lbs wet. Incredible. 15yrs apart. 10 yrs later, we move into 3,600lbs+ for this last generation with batteries. Will we go down from here, or do we go up again? Seems like up again except for the small manufacturers. Are these things actually sports cars anymore?
Yes they are. F1 cars in the '80s weighed 500 kilos, 2022 F1 cars have a minimum weight of 795 kilos, yet they would run circles around a 1980's car. Weight is just one of the factors that influence a car's performance and behaviour.
Man, these are so heavy, especially the F40 and F50. IMO neither should weigh more than 2500 lbs. And that's with a full tank of gas.
They run circles simply cause of technology. The 2004 Ferrari F1 is the best racing car ever made, it pure perfection. I wish Ferrari would make a road going supercar with a NA V12. Btw, if you were to make a modern F1 car with a NA V10, it will be faster than the hybrid crap we have now.
well the F40 is only 21 pounds heavier than what is written in the manual.....whereas the 288gto is 383 pounds higher which is a pretty blatant contradiction of the owners manual
That's my client's USA F40 which I organized for Bill to weigh, and the dry weight disparity is 145 lbs lighter than stated in the owner's manual, not 21 lbs heavier, the latter being the weight recorded with a full tank of gas. Bear in mind that weight in owner's manual is considered to be dry weight with no fluids (gas, oil, water) at all in Bill's chart. The 288 GTO Bill weighed is my car and the weight disparity is 184 lbs heavier than stated in the owner's manual, not 383 lbs heavier. When Bill came over to weigh the car I left the unbelievably heavy spare wheel and the fire extinguisher in the car neither of which the factory car is likely to have been weighed with, plus I happened to have a full tank of gas as I had a short trip planned. Bill extrapolated a dry weight of 2,741 pounds empty. Also, the GTO was not a series production car as the F40/F50 etc were (it was strictly a Homologation special) so I have no doubt the the factory's stated 2,557 lbs is the fully dry weight of one of the Prototypes which was lighter.
it's crazy that the f50GT1 is 900lbs lighter than an ordinary f50 - it's so barebones that you wouldn't think there'd be that much to take off
