I hope that Rosso corsa gated car on bat breaks 200k
I suspect it will sell for 160-175. Appears to be an extremely nice car. If it had 5000 miles (rather than 14000 miles) it just might hit 200.
According to the Z est my house purchased during the pandemic is now up 50%.... I'm skeptical. but hopeful My guilty pleasure = drinking beers watching the final minutes of a gated 360 BAT auction...... clearly you can see the detractors, and the pumpers... realtime..... one camp saying get ready for 30k in service.... and another camp saying no.... 5k diy...... such a spread of costs..... retail vs diy I suspect.
It could be the first 360 to publicly exceed its original sales price that I have seen. Part of me wants to see it shoot for the moon. The other part is freaking out if it does!
Just did it for the first time since 2018... No point of updating it that often. It's not like the market doubles every year... I'd say the market went up maybe 30% in 3 y (floor from 75k to 100k)....
FWIW- The annual "Concours in the Hills" took place February 12th here in Fountain Hills, Arizona. 1200 cars attended, all monies donated to the Phoenix Children's Hospital. An estimated 30,000 spectators attended. I entered my 1999 Modena gated 6 speed. Car is just about showroom, well documented, 24K miles, and I'm NOT interested in selling. A well known dealer here offered my 120K for it. That should be a good indicator of what this particular dealer thought the car was worth. Image Unavailable, Please Login
dealer offers 120K. Car retails and sells for 140. He makes 20K. Easy money. He isn't stupid, and neither are you for telling him to beat it. .....
Gated (real) manuals were available in 360s (excluding Challenge Stradale I am 99.99% sure) all through their production run. Others on here have the stats of manuals vs F1s by production year and broken out by Modena (coupe) versus Spider. Cheers
Yeah you really have to either look at the pics or visit the car - Note this is not only limited to Ferrari's (although the manual Ferrari market is crazy as we all know - hence my Avatar being the beautiful gated shifter on my 355 ) - I have seen Gallardo's listed as "6-speed manual" when they are actually E-Gear. It pisses me off too and when I was whining about it (and complimenting my local Dealer for NOT doing it) they said some (few) dealers do it (although Ferrari comes down on them like a brick) but mostly grey market sellers and some private sellers do it to attract interest and their defense is that "it is technically a manual transmission - just actuated via the electrohydraulic F1 system) - nice wordsmithing So this now brings up another risk/dilemma that was not prevalent when this thread started in 2014 - F1=>Manual conversions. Soon/currently there are/will be converted 360s, 430s and perhaps 550s/575s (others?) that have been converted from F1 to manual and done extremely well so difficult to visually tell the difference (I would imagine). Obviously that means checking the window sticker, build sheet, running the VIN etc. Just another variable that buyers (and sellers) need to be aware of. Cheers
550 Maranellos were only available in manual. For relevance to this conversation, 28% of 360 production was manual.
These cars went from $75k for a good example to $135k+ in 12-15 months. Much more than 30% and definitely worth updating in this case.
Thanks tons as always I mistakenly assumed/thought they brought in F1s toward the end of production as they did with 355s - Thanks for the fact check - Just makes my ongoing search for a TdF Blue 550 that much "easier" - Cheers While I have you (sort of) - you planning on attending the Enzo Bday Event this Saturday?
and correct me if i'm wrong, but i believe that the number of all 360 Modena's with 6 speeds imported into US was 469 total units.
and also think about how many Modena's were totaled in the first year, second year. The number of surviving Modena's with a stick can't be, what???? few hundred?
I wonder how difficult it would be to retrofit say a bimmer dct into a 360 f1 car?? Ls swap people are doing this now. pretty cool to think there are just a couple hundred gated 360’s…. Pretty rare spec.
