Mine was built in 1990 with Lexan lightweight doors, one of the 82?

I always thought it was the initial 80 odd cars that came with Lexan as standard then after those it was a no cost option over the wind up version? which very few took up, so a 90 car would be in addition to the 80 odd?

    No.
F40 #17 already had wind-up windows and no Lexan plexi sliding windows.

Hi Marcel, thank you for the info as it matches to my Classiche book and I’m led to believe it was a special order and had (LM?) straight pipes, not aftermarket tubi. I think he was very well connected to the Ferrari Dealership in Düsseldorf, or even ran it, as he also owned a 250 TDF amongst his collection.
    Cheers, Warren

In conferring with Marcel and his excellent database, the received wisdom is that there were originally 87 Lexan sliding windows cars.

    Thanks for the Info Marcel.
I saw the car later in 2011 on regular Hansestadt Hamburg plates HH-X-4022 by the same owner.
Unfortunatly I don't know if he still have this car. But he told me that he also owns a F50

You can always quickly tell the Japanese LM style conversions as they do not swap out the Pininfarina side panels for race versions or include a cut out for the emergency pulls on the front clam by the windscreen, lots and lots of other tell tales as well.

Does anyone know the chassis number of this F40 which is in Japan and which made the spot for a "redbull" energy drink and property of Takeshi Kimura .

True, and it did not hurt the value of F40 Blu when it recently sold, even in its non standard colour. Always wondered where the LM panels it wore ended up.

I believe Zanassi did the re conversion back to road car spec on that one, so I guess they kept them.
