Helicopter Crashes

Seemed like a pretty high descent rate even for autogyro.

 

A good landing is one you can swim away from.

 

You aren't a real helicopter pilot if you haven't crashed at least once... and maybe twice.

 

Same is said of AG pilots.

 

there was also one last night in Newport beach, it was a police helicopter

 

I have to fly on helicopters for work. I freaking hate it.

 

Thhey crashed into each other? Why wouldnt one go up when visibility became 0?

 

Or have a mid-air during an airshow. In front of SECDEF.

I love helicopters, but then I ride motorcycles as well.

 

too close to home on the accidents we have in our industry. I know we have hundreds of flights a day. But when you know a guy that goes down. It spooks you a bit.

 

Just for clarity ...........why were two National Guard Blackhawks trying to land on a ski slope? I can appreciate the excuse that they were practicing landing but this is just stupid.

Were there any skis found in the wreckage?

 

Supposedly they were practicing for a mountain rescue. They need to be able to land in snow, so it makes sense that they were practicing, particularly since it clearly shows they were not ready.
