Hi, i have replaced the fuel pump with Bosch 0580254975 a few years ago: Image Unavailable, Please Login Now again noise and problems. I search for an alternative fuel pump for 308 GTSi US 1981. I searched here in the forum, but there are older threads and i am in Europe/Germany. Best would be an alternative fuel pump incl. the valve like the original. So plug&play. Regards Paul
Do an internet search using "Bosch 69523". You may need to pay for shipping from the US, but they still seem to be available: https://www.carid.com/bosch/in-line-electric-fuel-pump-mpn-69523.html?view=543026&utm_source=microsoft&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=268725012&utm_content=1187473238789118&msclkid=e58379f2afdc158471481be65db20bce
Steve, thank you. I think BOSCH 69523 is exactly the same pump. It is a second Part-No, we call it "Fahrzeugverwendungsnummer" or similar. I will look around. Paul
And some additional infos to the pump (Source: Bosch): Image Unavailable, Please Login So 5 bar ist enough. And if the diameter is a little bit smaller e.g. 12mm it is ok with small O-Rings or other rings. Paul
Yes, the 5 bar is fine. What that chart is saying is that when operating at a pressure of 5 bar, the fuel delivery will be somewhere between 1120-1840 cc in 30 seconds (so just a single point in the pressure vs flow curve). The specification that Ferrari uses on models that use this pump is that the fuel delivery needs to be 1000 cc minimum in 30 seconds when operating at somewhere between 5.0-5.6 bar -- which is a little higher pressure, but the flow requirement is less. If you happened to get a pump that at 5 bar only delivered 1120 cc in 30 seconds, it might barely make the Ferrari specification of 1000 cc in 30 seconds if the car's fuel pressure regulator was set to 5.6 bar, but it would still be OK. Most of the pumps will far exceed the Ferrari specification (and all should meet the Ferrari specification). If you are asking if it is OK to use a similar Bosch pump that has a 12mm diameter hose inlet fitting rather than the 15mm hose inlet fitting of 0 580 254 975 = maybe, but I'm not sure. The risk would be that at maximum RPM (maximum fuel delivery) the smaller diameter inlet fitting (and smaller hose between the tank and fuel pump) might be a restriction. For rational street driving, I doubt that you would have any operational problem using a pump with a 12mm inlet hose fitting. The bigger issue might be that the fuel tank has a 15mm outlet fitting so you'd need some sort of special hose/adapter fitting to go from the fuel tank 15mm diameter outlet fitting to the 12mm diameter pump inlet fitting (I don't like stretching a 12mm hose onto the the 15mm fuel tank output fitting).
Steve, thank you for the information. Yes stretch is not good. But adapter like O-Rings or other fuel resistant rubber rings are ok. I do not care about 12mm or 15 mm. The inner diameter around 10 or 13. And on the pressure side inner diameter of the line around 8 mm (M12). That is save. Paul
Hi, in the upper picture you see Bosch 0580254975 (69523) and similar Bosch 0580254976 and Bosch 0580254977 But all these numbers are not in actual Bosch fuel pump catalogues. They have no new numbers. I do not think, this is a choise for future. Maybe old stock. in another thread here for another car (Source: snoutmeat ): Image Unavailable, Please Login I look if this pump 0580254984 has a new number. Image Unavailable, Please Login That would also match. "Ersatz" means replacement. If somebody knows another one ? Paul
Hi, no new number for this one too. It is possible to get it, but not available in the typical stores here. So maybe old stock. Bosch 0580464125 is available everywhere. But it is no Plug&Play. Another connection to the accumulator is necessary. The values are sufficiant. Not sure if this is the way to go. Paul
The pump is on the way. So i ordered a connection kit too. Quick solution with a fuel hose. Later i will look for another complete connection to the accumulator.
Hi, all is here. Both have diameter 15 mm on the low pressure side (fuel tank side). Image Unavailable, Please Login The new one is smaller in diameter, so i will need less fuel when driving. Paul
Hi, used here the same diameter 8mm for the quick solution with a hose Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Not directly to the right side, because the pump would move to far to the front: Image Unavailable, Please Login The new pump is working now. Paul
Hi, now 2 rides with the new pump. It works fine. The quick solution with the rubber fuel hose is ok, but now there is time to find a normal solution. Best is a connection pump-<->accumulation with one piece like before. Metal pipe preferred. Max. 25cm/10inch. Hi, will go to this solution: Image Unavailable, Please Login So i think we are ready here. Third ride and happy with the new pump. Paul
