Hachette 1/24th scale Lotus 72 1972 World Champion is out on Italian newstands. It looks great, even with rivet detail on the wings. They supply tobacco sponsors but you have to put them on yourself due to EU laws.

This is one of the best diecast series of models I have seen in 1/24th, better than alot of much bigger scale diecasts. They can be detailed into top quality models with a little work, and they are about $40.00 not including shipping from Italy.

2 years from now people will be asking me where to find them after they are all gone.

One more of the Lotus 72 in 1/24th scale. Yes this is a diecast, and I would say better than 95% of the 1/18th F1 car diecasts out there!!! They did miss the "double" rings on the Firestone tires.

Oh, this one looks cooler than the same one from WRC Collection IMO!
And if it is regular Ixo model, then it would be easily avaliable.

l got the 1/24 White Box version of the Escort RS 1800 today - made by Ixo, it IS the rally car in a civilian livery, only missing the mudflaps and roof antenna, it is avilable for € 25,00 and will be transformed into Ari Vatanen's 1980 Acropolis rally winning car: Image Unavailable, Please Login

With the right decals and some add-ons it will look like this:

I think UMI or Mike Quarterman did those decals for Studio 27. Those Ixo and the white box model look great, bringing a new level to 1/24th scale diecasts. Welly and Burago better start doing better as they are not keeping up.

I think it is made by Hachette or that marketing parent company for Ixo. They may own Ixo also, not sure how it is set up.

Lately I bought Fiat 131 Abarth from Ixo - I prefer this Alitalia livery, rather then the blue and white one (in the WRC Collection they have the later one).
Also the taillights in this older version of 131 looked cooler IMO :)

Next releases announced for the 1/24th F1 series. The 1999 Mclaren MP4-14 was already announced as is a Williams FW14 but the release dates have been modified. I kind of thought they might do the non champion Hesketh because of the movie and Jordan due to MS. I hope they do a few more older cars.

    41: Hesketh 308B James Hunt 1975Release
    42: Mclaren MP4-14 Mika Hakkinen 1999Release
    43: Red Bull RB15 Max Verstappen 2019Release
    44: Jordan 191 Michael Schumacher 1991

These are absolutely gorgeous! Can you tell me what 1/24 scale equates to, approximately, in inches? Do you have any idea of the cost? I have a friend in Italy who I think could order a couple for me, or perhaps I could place an order myself, I speak Italian fluently. Do you have any links to Quattroruote vendors? Thanks

1/24 scale model is ca. 16-19 cm (6,3-7,5 in) long and 7-9 cm (2,7-3,5 in) wide.
Quattroruote collection is by now finished and sold out, but you can still find them on ebay.
Prices may vary - from eur 15 even up to eur 100 for rarest models.

Not sure if anyone has been watching the Autos Inolvidables 1/24th Hachette collection. They are cars produced mainly in Mexico and the "Americas'. The prices I have seen on ebay for these are funny. Don't really get it, but massive price gouging. Only in America(North America) :).

Received my Hachette Alfetta 158 yesterday from Italy: all in all a nice model, but the wheels detract a bit from it: whereas the plastic spokes look acceptable, the tires are a bit too wide and look too small in diameter compared with photos of the real car - they simply look a bit too fat for 1950, though the tread detail is well done. Absolutely wrong is the non-period-correct tire lettering - much too large.
A little TLC will be needed for the thick steering wheel spokes and the too-flat-positioned windshield. A black wash for all the cooling slots around the engine would also do well.
Nevertheless, I like the model, body, cockpit and suspension are well done !
    On to the pics:

I talked Fernando Pinto and he is making a new size hand laced wire wheel set and different tires for this model and the Ferrari F1 375. They should be ready soon. I gave him a highly detailed set of printed Stelvio's that he is using. It should set off this very accurately shaped body and make it look very nice indeed.
