If the below is considered ‘faultless condition…hardly any traces of wear’

I think the eventual bid winner will end up paying a lot more than the estimates suggest

That's exactly why it would make no financial sense for this car to come to the UK when it can go to many other places for much less, Eu, Middle East, Far East, the USA etc.

Agreed, but the funny thing in markets like this is, there are people who will pay up for a car based solely on mileage.

Let us deconstruct this. The 40% combines two separate elements:
    - Buyer’s premium plus any associated costs (e.g. VAT)
    - UK import tax of 20% for Euro cars.

The former applies to any buyer (human from any geography, or corporate of any form). So it is a common factor to all and not UK-specific.

    so we are left with:
    - for a US buyer: paying 2.5% import tax, transport cost, (no federalisation costs), and potentially state-specific registration tax
    - for a Euro buyer: paying 20% registration as the car is below 6K km and hence deemed ‘new’
    - for a UK buyer, he has three choices
    1. Register it at 20% and drive happily (parity with Euro buyer)
    2. Leave it bonded and unregistered until the car is 30-year old (another 4 years) and then pay 5% registration (instead of 20%) and drive happily thereafter
    3. Leave it bonded and unregistered as a long-term investment (deep-pockets traders, investors) and then sell it to US anytime (2.5%) or 4 years later to Europe (5% EU tax) or other places with their local import taxes.

So the UK buyer is in an at least as good position as a Euro buyer (in both cases whether he is a ‘driver’ or an ‘investor’).

Additionally, if some European countries don’t have the bonded scheme, then the UK buyer is at a clear advantage again whether he is a ‘driver’ (enjoy as art for 4 years then pay 5% and drive happily) or ‘investor’ (pay 0% and sell wherever and wherever).

‘What’s the mileage?’ is almost always the first question asked by buyers or traders alike. Then comes condition, originality weave, number of service stamps, history span and detail, provenance and the rest.

it’s a pity, but that is how it is!

I think a USA buyer is in the best position, and this won't go unnoticed.

    Thanks Marcel

Looking at the list Karim posted, that contains a few errors, including 2 cars claiming to be 76?

    Thanks Mark

4.1 seems like a big ask for a car with 12k miles.

They bought this car four month ago for $1m less. So the F50 is becoming the quarter million dollars per month car…
So anybody owning an F50, hold tight and don’t sell. Be patient. Think long-term. Don’t listen to brokers who want turnover.

Karim , good advice ……. I think the F50 prices may fluctuate with world events but net up for sure …. My previous comments about £5Mill Uk cars in 7 years may be a tad sooner ….

    I would say $4.7m - $5m.
If 13k km cars sell for €3.5m as a base today, then add a premium of 20-25% for the 1.5k km vs 13k km mileage, and you get €4.3m.
