This is good to know James. I'm assuming your wideband probe is mounted at the Y-pipe for measurement?

Since we're somewhat on the topic of Bypass Remote Controllers, most consider Forza Componenti and Capristo. I would like to recommend another... Kline Innovations.

    https://www.kline-innovation.com/inconel-button/

They make a sophisticated looking bypass controller system, which seems to be a lighter weight system overall compared to Forza and Capristo. The button/controller also sits inside the cigarette lighter and powers off of it, which makes it sophisticated-looking and convenient.

I purchased this for my Scud and I love the package. Only problem is my damn cigarette lighter isn't working, so I have to diagnose that issue before I can get it to work.

I measured it at the exhaust tip (though the bypass circuit tip).

I think maybe why it's said 2.7's run richer is it seems they have more of a problem with plug fouling. I think this is because 2.7 cars had one range colder plug and not because of a richer mixture.

(though I've never had a fouled plug on my own car)

Just back from a decent run now. My initial impressions remain. For my particular circumstances, the bypass remote and the 2/3 give me everything I could want. Open-valve down shifts are now almost wickedly loud and sharp. Pops and crackles on upshifts are very race car-like. Into town or on light throttle cruising, revert the bypass control to factory settings and it is nicely understated and considerate.

This engine deserves this exhaust. It is simply magnificent.

Not sure how this range of performance can be achieved with the later 5.2 cars though with their added sensors. I would be wanting for more than the 2/3 (in closed-valve state) if the rest of my setup was stock.

We even had a father and son follow for 5 miles (in their Volvo Estate obviously) to talk to me about the car after hearing it in a tunnel. Quite atypical behaviour for the understated Swedes, bless them. I could only smile.

In an age of speed limiters, electric propulsion and ipad interiors, these machines are just something else.

What is the difference between a 5.2 and 2.7 Capristo exhaust? Is the capristo exhaust actually the same for both models? Reason I ask is i know of a used 2.7 and was wondering if this would fit a 5.2?

Depends when it was made the older Capristo were designated 2.7 or 5.2 and the only difference being the omission of the bung for thermocouple probe on the bypass side for the 2.7. Now they all come with the bung and are supplied with a cap if you were to not require it. If it’s relatively new it will have the bung and will fit on either 2.7 or 5.2.
